Hello gamers. My fianc's laptop is downloading at only 4mb/s even with a Ethernet plugged in and mine gets about 42mb/s so any idea what could be causing it??

She's had this laptop for 2 years now. She's been having lag issues in game and some random disconnects as well. Would it still be the driver?

Checkout the resource monitor tool in windows. Goto the networking tab and see what processes are eating up the network bandwidth. I would also suggest checking the link speed by plugging it into the router and looking at the lights. Usually routers blink red if the link state is <100mbs and blinks green if >=1000mbs.

Try updating the network/internet adapters, if that does not help i would suggest restarting your router there may be a issue or even switch the ethernet to a different port on your router
