OK so basically i have a straight piped exhaust on my car and its loud asf to say the least however i want to make it pop and bang, but i dont really wan to get a decat because i have a manifold cat, so could i get a

"Pop and Bang" Remap to allow this to happen bearing in mind i have no silencers on the car ATM, and i get the occasional pop already or do i need a decat completely.

I just dont fancy wasting $219 on a remap thats not gonna make it bang

A couple things we don't know here.

1. What type of vehicle do you have?
2. What engine / any other mods?
3. Which specific tune are you looking at?

The pops are essentially un burnt fuel being ignited in the exhaust. Basically to get the pops you want, you will need a tune that will reprogram the ECU to tell it that it's getting more air than it actually is so that it will inject more fuel which will in turn give you more fuel than needed on each firing circulation which will give you more un burnt fuel to make its way into the exhaust to ignite in there.

Any sort of baffling in the exhaust such as a cat, muffler, silencer, etc. will hamper the pops. They will still happen, however they won't be as audible. Just know the consequences in doing this though, you will have much higher EGT's which will burn up that cat and cause other issues.

Suzuki Swift 1.6 Sport

The resonator / Middle silencer has been taken off and replaced with straight piping, same goes for the rear silencer so i have no exhaust restrictions apart from a manifold cat, and the remap that i want tells the ECU to force more fuel through so i have fuel dumped into the exhaust but what i want to know is, will it bang if i get the remap because i have a straight piped exhaust or do i need to take the cat off completely. The car also has a performance air filter.
