An original, unopened box of 1999 First Edition Pokmon cards has sold at auction in the US for the staggering price of $56,000.

Anyone's thoughts ? I think it's crazy for the price but look how popular pokemon still is. I wouldn't pay that price tho.

I think that's genuinely crazy. The majority of items we keep that we think will be valuable later on ends up being generally worthless, and that's been the same for a ton of Pokemon cards. That's worth more than the average salary of a do well person in the US.
