First time using the pentool just made it off a picture, I know probably to much gaussian blur but I got no idea on how to make the edges less choppy

This style of artwork usually exhibits sharp edges and linework. The blur on the edges isn't necessary in my opinion, maybe only in shading. Now if your edjes arent smooth enough and you're making them too jagged, you just need more practice using the pen tool.

I think you're starting off really great, and with more practice things like this will get much better
