It's pretty bad. 1000W PSU made me lol, its not even branded either. No SSD in a $1200 system is pitiful. That pre-built is easily $200 more than it's worth. The kb+mouse are nothing special.

You could easily save $200 and build a system that will perform almost identically, plus you get an SSD The money saved could allow you to get 16GB RAM and a 500GB SSD within budget. You also get a much better/nicer case, a better quality PSU, and a better kb/mouse, though not the best keyboard. You could get a better keyboard within budget, as well as the larger SSD and 16GB RAM if you wanted. You could swap the RX 580 for a 6GB GTX 1060, but I'd be getting the 580 if the price is similar(which it currently is). You could drop the Cryorig M9i and use the stock Intel cooler if you'd prefer to save the $20.

What newer games? We can't really give you a list of performance you can expect in games if we don't know what games(or even what kind of games) you are playing. A current gen i5 and RX 580/6GB GTX 1060 is perfectly adequate for handling anything at 1080p 60Hz though.

I made a few edits, I already have the ram I've inserted on here, along with a mouse and keyboard. I only put the ones up for cyber power, because it was a great deal for great K&M. I plan on buying parts separately, so I upped the graphics card since I will be able to afford it. Is the CPU good? My friend said he would've way preferred the one on cyberpower I had listed, the 8700k.

The CyberPower PC had an 8600k, not 8700k. It's $100 extra for the 8700k. The i5-8500 and i5-8600k at stock speeds will perform almost identically, the 8600k's only benefit is the fact that it's unlocked for overclocking, which I'm assuming you won't be doing, so the i5-8500 is the better choice for you. Especially because you can buy a cheaper motherboard for the 8500, whereas an unlocked CPU like the 8600k or 8700k would need a Z370 motherboard. The games you listed will run perfectly fine with an i5-8500 and RX 580/GTX 1060 6GB. The i7-8700k is of course better than the i5-8600k, but if you were going with an i7 and aren't overclocking, just get the i7-8700. The i7 is totally unnecessary if you're just gaming though, especially at 1080p 60Hz.

The alternative RAM in that parts list is fine, I wouldn't be spending $360 for a GTX 1060 though. $300 is already over-priced for an RX 580/GTX 1060. For $360 you could easily buy a used 980Ti which would perform on par with a GTX 1070. If you're wanting a 1060, I'd get one of these;

Even $320 is pushing it, you could still probably manage to find a 980Ti for around that price
