Don't build PC's very often but I know the basics. Just looking for a second opinion on if these parts will work well together for an all purpose PC focused for high performance gaming. Feel free to criticize and give any advice you can. Trying to keep it under $1000 just so you know.

I personally wouldn't go with a 2 generation older CPU.
In addition to that the new 8th gen i5 8400 is a 6 core beast for sub $200!
Also would bump the ram to 16gb and get an SSD drive.
Lastly you can get a copy of windows 10 online for like $15 off SCDKEYS.

This is my recommendation for a build around $1000.

I mean, it's not bad but it definitely isn't good. No SSD in a $1000 system is pitiful. There's so much wrong with the GPU, a 1050Ti doesn't really belong in a $1000 system in the first place, but you absolutely should not be paying $225 for a 1050Ti. That's how much a 6GB 1060 should cost. Either don't buy a GPU, or buy used. PSU is ridiculously stupid overkill. Do not pay almost $100 for your OS, it's such a waste of money.

Before anyone can properly help with a parts list, we need more information.
What monitor(s) will you be using with this system?
What exactly will the system be used for?
I'm assuming you have no interest in overclocking?
Any preferences(aesthetic or otherwise)?
