im curious as to what the true benefits of 16gb of ram, over 8gb of ram is. i current have 8 and have been debating on upgrading but i dont know if it would benefit me or not. my general use is gaming (pubg, fallout, csgo,etc.) any insight would be appreciated!

If you're not having issues, I wouldn't buy more.

However for me I've seen some games use up to 10gb of my 16gb.
I imagine would cause stuttering or a soft lock up.

Is your current 8GB RAM limiting you? If not, you'll see no benefit. If it is, you'll still not see much benefit for the most part other than some games that really like RAM. PUBG likes RAM I think, but if your CPU and GPU are on the lower end, a RAM upgrade wouldn't make much sense.
