Okay when I first got my laptop, it was obviously quick as it was new.

Then I stopped using it for months, and then recently went back on and completed all the updates and now it's the slowest piece of shit and it's a fairly decent laptop. It's not high end etc but yanno!

Is there anything I can do to speed it up? I do have WoW installed which takes up alot of space. It's also a 1TB and I don't have anything else that big installed. I'm clearly no computer whizz but it would be good to gain some general knowledge.

Trying clearing your registry, usually a lot of junk files can pile up and slow your computer down, that's where I would start.

You can use something like CCleaner to do that.

Microsoft breaking things again with updates ey?

I wouldn't opt for CCleaner as it's literal aids.

Malwarebytes, disk cleanup, check over startup programs in msconfig or task manager.

Even a reset in Windows 10 upgrade suite can help a lot.

Disk cleanup comes with Windows, it's a feature and does what CCleaner does effectively.

Replace the mechanical drive with an SSD. Spinning disks don't belong in laptops.

When you put the computer away was it on a previous windows from when you started it up months later and did those updates you were talking about. If your laptop is "old" and when I say old I mean the parts in it which are most likely outdated. Say you were on Windows 8 before and you updated to Windows 10. Windows 10 could be making your laptop running slow because of all the updated UI's and such.
