Hey, I was just wondering do any TTG members own snakes? preferably a ball python. I am new to reptiles but am in love with pythons, anacondas, boas, death adders and any other venomous / big snakes.
But I want to start small ( I'm planning on buying everything for my ball python ) I'm obviously wanting a ball python and i've been watching videos on cleaning their box / cage and handling them and feeding them but I need more information as I don't want to neglect it and piss it off.
Looking for any online guides to them ( My internet is so shit right now, that's why i'm posting here ) that can help me with taking care and the feeding habits and how much i should feed them and all that stuff,

I'm not sure what type of snake this person has but I do know he's an expert when it comes to animals!

Alright let's do the thing I do best
Let's start off with saying i actually never owned a ball python as they are illegal to own but fold
Is the expert but i have done tons of research and i do know their care
So let's continue
Ball pythons
Bedding should be aspin
Feeding once a week of appropriate sized mice it should be no larger than the width of the snake
Cage should be a minimum of a 15 gallon with lots of ventilation
Lights are not required but a heat mat on one side of the tank is as they are cold blooded they need a heat source on their bellies to help with digestion
They are extremely calm snakes and will only bite when uncomfortable and scared
Supply a water dish that they can soak in and drink
Increases the humidity when it starts shedding you can tell when it's getting ready to shed by looking at the eyes they will look cloudy
So handling can be done once every 2 to days or so just so it can get used to being held but do not handle after feeding give it at least 2 days do digest the food also don't handle if it is showing aggressive behaviour
That should get you started i have to get back to work ill probably add more on my next break so ask any questions
