First off during an interview ATVI said SledgeHammer Games wanted to make Advanced Warefare 2 instead of Call of Duty World War 2. Activision wanted to bring Call of Duty back to its root. As we know Black Ops 2 was a popular game (in my opinion at least). So for Activision to bring back Call of Duty to its root i think their is a reason for that. In my opinion its because even if Black Ops 3 was more successful than Infinite Warfare and i personally think it was better than Advanced Warfare people still wanted boots on the ground. So therefor I think Treyarch asked Activision to make sure Call of Duty 2017 (WW2) it was boots on the ground so people would come back and Treyarch would have more people on what would be Call of Duty Black Ops 4 since Call of Duty World War 2 would be successful and people that didn't purchase it thinking its gonna have supply drop so they will add DLC weapons and all that would see they were wrong and buy Call of Duty Black Ops 4.

Anyways that how i view it. I don't really know how to express it (my primary language is French).
