Don't buy any of that. Ryzen isn't an upgrade for gaming from a Haswell i5. At MOST, swap your i5 out for a Haswell i7 or Xeon with 8 threads. Plus, DDR3 RAM is still a bit cheaper than DDR4 and you already have 8GB DDR3 so you can easily and much more cost efficiently add another 8GB RAM to your current system. You're missing DDR4 from that parts list with the R7 1700x anyway, so the system wouldn't even work. Oh, and that Corsair PSU is utter garbage, especially for that price.

What is your current case and PSU(make and model of both)? Why do you want to upgrade them both?

Your i5 and HD7950 should still be pretty damn good for 1080p gaming, so why are you looking for an upgrade? Are there certain games you're looking for better performance in? If so, what games?

You shouldn't have to play at low settings with your current system. You should be able to play most of the more demanding games between med and high settings.

If you're thinking of getting a new monitor, it would make sense to get the new monitor first and then buy an appropriate GPU for it.

SSD since you don't have one, that's going to make a huge difference in overall system responsiveness. Must have in 2017. For CPU, I've added a Xeon E3-1231 V3 but don't buy a new one at that price. Look around for used Haswell i7s and Xeons, so Xeon E3-1230 V3, E3-1231 V3, i7-4770(k), or i7-4790(k). You should be able to find one for under &163;190 pretty easily. Check reddit.com/r/hardwareswapuk. For GPU, anything less than an RX 570 really isn't going to be an upgrade for you. GPU upgrade will make the most difference so for now, Id hold on to your i5 and grab the Xeon/i7 later if you still want a CPU upgrade. I would try to get an RX 580 instead of the 570 but the 580 isn't really worth more than £35 extra over the 570. The RX 580 would hold a little better at 1440p though if you do decide to upgrade to 1440p, especially an 8GB 580. 8GB 580 isnt worth more than £25/30 extra over a 4GB variant.

Why get a xeon is a ryzen not good the ryzen i can get for 240GBP and it has double the cores and threads jsut asking why i looked at some benchmarks and they say that the ryzen is better for gaming. For my GPU its not in my budget was going to get it later down the line was thinking of getting a 580 a XFX GTR-s version or get a 1070 and then that leads to my monitor was looking at a freesync monitor if i get a 580 or just get a normal monitor if i get a 1070. For a SSD if i got the ryzen build i could get a m.2 SSD which a lot faster i heard than sata.

Im just slowly upgrading my PC.

Like I said, Ryzen is not an upgrade in gaming performance from Haswell. Ryzen upgrade is not £240. You need a new motherboard and RAM which is at least another &163;130, whereas you can keep your current motherboard and RAM with a Haswell i7/Xeon. Again, also like I said, you can easily get a Haswell i7/Xeon for less than £190. So about half the price of a Ryzen upgrade. The RX 570 is less than £200. That's definitely within your £430 budget. Like I said, you can get the GPU, RAM and SSD now which is £100 under budget and will offer a noticeable improvement all round AND in games, then upgrade to an i7/Xeon later if you still want.

m.2 is a form factor, same as 2.5". m.2 isn't just inherently faster, there are SATA m.2 SSDs. NVMe drives are significantly faster than SATA, but a total waste of money for a gaming system.
