I was told I could come here and get some help building my first PC
I had some buddies send me parts that would be ideal, but I want ideas and try to find a total that's cheaper.

Budget/Currency - less than 1,000 USD if possible.
Peripherals and Monitor - not needed
Games - the general MMOs, MOBAs, and FPS (CS:GO, TERA, LoL, etc)
Software - basics
Aesthetics - Mid tower w/ RGB
When - either asap or over the next few months

Thanks for the help!

Don't buy that. Kaby Lake makes no sense, Coffee Lake is out. Ryzen is the better option right now though IMO. Over priced HDD and no SSD? Don't pay $90+ for your OS. You can use Win10 for free or buy a key for <$30.

Assuming you have a half decent monitor;

If your monitor isn't great, I'd probably spend some of the $1k budget on a nice new monitor.

Yes, the Cooler Master case will work instead of the P400S.
