I currently have an Intel Core i5-6400 CPU @ 2.70GHz processor.
I have a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti.
8GB Ram
ASRock Motherboard
What do you recommend in upgrades for my pc to run games smoother? Cause it is still quite choppy on some games.

GPU before anything else there. Your skylake i5 is fine, the 8gb of DDR4 could be upgraded but it wont make a huge difference in most games.

Getting a new CPU or new motherboard is basically getting a new PC, so neither of those would I recommend updating unless you're wanting to start over, basically. RAM is also dependent on your motherboard type, so you may be able to upgrade there, but as far as I'm concerned 8gb of ram is fine for most games.
GPU is always the way to go - The 1050 is a supremely outmatched graphic card by cards only a hundred dollars more.
I recommend tossing the 1050 and getting at least a 1070, you'll notice a supreme jump in FPS. If you can, cough up cash for a 1080 or 1080 TI for optimal, top of the line performance.
