This is the options under Advanced but there is no 'boot options'

Without the laptop in front of me, I don't know what else to suggest. Have you tried using a different USB port? try all of them as some could be defective. On boot try booting to boot options and select USB from there (If it shows up), think it's F12 on boot.

If you have another laptop you could put the hard drive from your Toshiba into it, from there install Windows onto that laptop, once the installation is finished move it back to the Toshiba?

You're not meant to do it but it sometimes works. This will work fine if both laptops are the same, I'd only do this if you're desperate.

Yeah I understand, thank you anyway for the help. I have booted to boot menu using F12 and it shows:

USB:
HDD/SSD :TOSHIBA MQ01ABD100(S1)
ODD: TSSTcorp CDDCDW SU-208FB(PM)
LAN :REALTEK PXE

It seems that the USB ODD I purchased isn't being recognised as either the boot drive for CD nor as a USB device.

Do you know if there is anyway to change this?

I don't have a spare laptop/computer so I may need to just pick up a new one. Toshiba is after all, very bad.

I was going to use the 60GB Sata HDD from my Xbox 360 HDD and try this as it's fresh HDD with no OS installed, but I also don't want to loose any data on this as its just filled with save games and profiles.

Have you tried all of the USB ports?

Yeah, I have tried both 2.0 and one 3.0 USB port. No luck USB Drive is also connected to power.

I think it may be time for a new laptop lol

its a bypass to let you boot from usb's and DVD's

Also I can't switch from UEFI as there is no option unfortunately, on either user, supervisor or master
