Now that the 5th season of competive is ending, where did you place/end thoughout the season, and how do you feel about the new changes coming to Mercy/Dva/Reinhardt?
Dva Changes

D.Va

Micro Missiles (New Ability)
D.Va fires a barrage of small rockets that detonate on impact, dealing damage in a limited radius around each explosion. These can be fired while D.Va is using any other ability or firing her Fusion Cannons
Defense Matrix
Defense Matrix's resource meter will now deplete twice as quickly
Boosters
Fusion Cannons can now be fired while flying

Mercy
Mercy

Resurrect (formerly Mercys Ultimate ability)
Ability now targets a single player, instead of every player within a radius
Radius reduced to 5 meters
Ability cooldown is 30 seconds
Mercy is no longer granted invulnerability while Resurrect is active
Valkyrie (New Ultimate Ability)
Valkyrie unleashes the full power of Mercys Valkyrie Suit, enhancing her weapons and abilities for 20 seconds:
Caduceus Staff: Mercys healing and damage boost beams now affect all allies near the targeted teammate, and the staffs effective range has been extended
Caduceus Blaster: Granted infinite ammo, while simultaneously increasing damage and fire rate
Guardian Angel: Increased range and movement speed
Resurrect: Cooldown is instantly reset when Valkyrie is activated and reduced to 10s after the initial cast
Hover: Mercy gains the ability to fly freely, at increased movement speed
Regeneration (Passive): No longer interrupted when Mercy takes damage

Reinhardt
Barrier Field
Holding primary fire while your shield is active now allows you to rotate the camera

Also fixes to Doomfist's rocket punch hit box, and Roadhog can heal while walking and take less damage while hes healing so he isn't so much of a ult sponge.

Personally i'm very excited for the fix of the report system, it's extremely abused on xbox, and its frustrating having to play with legitimate throwers and salty players.

If you're unfamiliar with it, its pretty much like a report system that if you manage to get reported enough, it pairs you with people only in that category.

There was a post explaining it on the site Here

Besides that, i'm happy that Mercy is getting a rework, it was very frustrating playing hide n seek with a Mercy with ult, that comes in last second and resurrects a team with little to no effort, she has one of the highest pick rates within all ranks of competitive, second highest being Dva but by a long shot.

I managed to peak around 3887 this season, highest being 3998 last season, being flex, mainly forced to play a tank or a healer, which i'm perfectly fine with.

I played around the 3100-3300 ranks for a majority of the season, but my friend decided he was going to "throw" matches, so i stopped playing with him and solo queued on my own, and i'm at a 3600 rank at the moment.

Season 5 was such a shithole of a mess. Easily the second worst season right behind Season 1 when hero stacking was allowed (6 Winstons or 2 Lucio, 2 Tracer and 2 Winston.)

Dive really put a strain on this meta, mainly support players. I rarely play support, but I have a few hours as support this season. Support mains were super passive this season due to them being scared of getting dived on. When Doomfist came into the mix, that further escalated the support players being really passive with how they play. It also became a terrible time of people fighting for DPS picks. It got to the point where people had to settle for tank or support. I can flex between all roles, but it was to the point that if someone didn't get their way, chances are they were going to throw.

This season I placed and finished high plat. Think 2985 or so. Last season, I was diamond. I know for a fact, the difference in rating was due to dive meta and because of how much that made playing support either a chore or made support players nervous about every move they made. The team can be killing people, blocking damage all they want, but if healers are getting dived on or playing super passive, nothing can be done about healing in general. There was also a big difference in people throwing, which mainly goes back to above about how people either got the pick they wanted or they threw. Plus, for some reason, soooooooooooo many damn Koreans came onto NA servers for some reason this season compared the previous. Blizzard seriously needs to fix that. Language barrier, with high ping and insta-locks one hero, refuses to switch off; I really believe Blizzard should region lock. Korea has their own severs. I already know EU is a problem with that too, seeing how Australians get shafted being forced onto EU servers and then EU also get South East Asia and Middle Eastern players. Pair that with the different languages in Europe as is.

Anyways, onto the fixes.

Mercy is getting a great buff. A lot of Mercy players play really passive for that 3-5 man rez once they get it because getting POTM gets them off. A good Mercy player knows when a single or a double rez is a smart choice to turn the tides of a fight, yet most of them would hide trying to get the bigger rez amount. Her new ult is great; however, I have noticed people on Reddit complain it kind of voids Orisa's ult and in some degree Zen's ult. I know they're going to nerf her DPS in her ult form since people on the PTR were using her like an AC-130, but I still think she'll be great as DPS in her ult as well as support.

D.VA, I'm kind of iffy about. Coming from a previous D.VA main, Blizzard doesn't seem to know what they want to do with her. Before she was used to peel and DPS, they adjusted her Defense Matrix, suddenly she became a backliner meant to protect her healers. Then they further adjusted and fixed DM, which caused her to become an aggressive DPS tank during the Tank Meta. They then nerfed her HP by removing some armour, made her do less damage on her primary fire, while getting an extra pellet per shot. NOW they're nerfing her DM, while giving her a burst 200 damage missile ability, that can be used while using her DM and she can now fire her primary weapon while using her boosters. So she went from peel DPS > backline protector > aggressive DPS/Flanker > backline protector > Aggressive DPS/Backline suppression fire. In one way, I'm happy that DM is getting a nerf, because plenty of times D.VA gets in your face during an ult that you can't do anything about, which causes you to waste it or if you're someone like McCree, just stuck there while you get focused fire. On the other hand, I know it's going to be a huge hit to support players who would otherwise benefit from a friendly D.VA deleting damage that would otherwise kill a support on desperate HP.

Doomfist I don't think matters too much. Sure, the Doomfist players who think they're good now, who were simply just getting kills from the hitbox will now see they're not as good as they thought they were. However, Doomfist is still going to lead a Dive meta as he destroy squishy characters and has a lot of in-air-mobility for getting in, getting an insta-gib and getting out.

Orisa is getting a nice little buff which I think will be great to counter Pharah, as well as help her as an anchor tank. 20% projectile speed and a 20% increase in shield size (bigger than Rein's shield.) Gives her more room to melt people down while keeping more of the team protected.

Lastly, looking forward to Widow's buffs. I main Widow now, so having more mobility, plus having a better use of Venom Mine will help a lot out. So many times an 8 second hook cool down would have saved me. Now with Venom Mine revealing enemies hit by it, that's information I can give to my team if anyone is playing close.

Junkrat and Roadhog buffs are meh. Junk's ult is much better now and he has much better burst damage, but I don't think it'll help too much with him given the current meta. Roadhog, is what it is. Only gives him an escape method once healing and that's all. It's still arguable after the buff that Roadhog was "deleted" from the game on a competitive stance.

Edit: Forgot to answer the topic question lol. I think Season 6 will start off much better than Season 5 did, but if the meta stays as Dive, I don't think it'll end any better than Season 5 did. If healers are being too passive or not wanting to play, solely because they see playing support in a dive meta is a chore, then it's going to be the same issue of DPS locking. I think Overwatch needs a new healer - a primary healer like Mercy/Ana and ASAP. Hell, I would say there needs to be 2 healers as the 2 newest heroes because there's not a lot of options for healers. Close range good healing (Mercy,) close range AOE decent healing (Lucio,) close and long range minimal healing (Zenyatta,) close range and long range [good] burst healing (Ana.) There needs to be a few more options for healers so they don't fear Dive meta so much, as the only one able to really deal with them, is Zen with Discord Orb and good aim or Ana sleeping darting and having her team focus fire.
