Not really. If he's an editor, be that image or video, those extra cores help a lot with the render process. If he's working on 3D models using programs like CAD, this is a huge plus for him. If he's also running any VMs on his PC, this will also help where he could run a VM and game, without tanking his performance drastically.


OP: How have the benchmarks been looking on gaming if you've done so already? I'm honestly debating getting the 1950x or the i9-7900x once I do my new build when I can get my hands on the 1080 Ti Kingpin.
