sorted the problem, just re-installed windows and then re-installed all of my programs

FYI: That error you posted is usually caused by using the wrong version of the .exe.
Either x64 or x86 (32-bit)

It was the right version as I have a 64-bit operating system and the program installation was also 64-bit. I think some of the windows files were removed by my antivirus (AVG) so I havent installed that this time.
