Hello all, recently I purchased a GTX 1050 Ti (and 4gb of ram) to replace my GTX 750 Ti, but when I installed it, it didn't perform anywhere near I thought it would, it was actually worse than before I switched it. So I Decided to put my GTX 750 back in because I thought it would go back to normal but nope, the maximum frames I got in CS:GO was 50-60FPS in-game when I was sitting at around 140fps before I bought the new GPU. Im not too sure what could be causing it and was hoping someone here would be able to help me, if so I would really appreciate it, thanks!

My specs are:
GTX 1050 Ti, and a GTX 750 Ti (using the 750 right now)

Intel Core i5-4440 CPU @ 3.10GHz

12gb of ram 8gb DDR3 4GB of DDR3L

B85M-G43 motherboard

SanDisk ReadyCache SDSSDRC-032G-G26 2.5" 32GB SATA III

Cooler Master Elite Power - 460W Power Supply

1TB HDD

Intel E33681-001 Socket 775 Aluminum CPU Cooler w/ 4-Pin PWM Connector

2 Masterfan Pro's

If any more specs are needed please tell me!

When you put in the 1050, be sure to update the Nvidia drivers.

My best guess is that you didn't uninstall the 750 Ti drivers, plug in your 1050 Ti and install the drivers for that card. When I swapped from the Radeon HD 7950 to the R9 280x, I didn't uninstall the drivers for the Radeon HD 7950, just plugged in my new GPU and my FPS was not anything like I expected. Actually sent an RMA thinking the card was messed up, turned out, I just made an error on my part that was not even worth the 2 week wait it took me to get a new card...

I also went ahead and put your parts in a part list (as best as I could, you might have different brands or models for some hardware) and you're not even close to the estimated wattage; which if you were exceeding the wattage, you would notice less performance as some hardware wouldn't be running at it's full power.

I couldn't find your CPU cooler, but I imagine it's a stock cooler. Either way, no way in hell that thing is going to cause a 150w difference lol.

So my advice, would be to uninstall the drivers for the 750 Ti, put your 1050 Ti in, install drivers for it then give it a test. If that still doesn't work, monitor your temps in game. Very well could be that your GPU is throttling from hitting a high temperature (shouldn't happen immediately like you mention, but it is a curiosity spike.) My next bet would be your Nvidia GeForce Experience is also an issue. GeForce Experience has an option to auto optimise games to what THEY think your card can run. My friend got a 1050 Ti a few days ago and Nvidia tries to force him to play TF2 on 4k for some reason. Take a look at that and see if it's trying to force you to play 1440p or any other resolution. All together, I would normally advise you turn off recommended optimisation so that way you're in control of things. If after all that and nothing is helping your FPS, then something else is going on with your card. At that point I would be looking into an RMA for the card to see if it was just a faulty card that you got unlucky with.
