It's a volatile situation which will almost certainly see massive bloodshed on all sides if anything happens.

Realistically, the way forward should be as diplomatic as possible. Japan are pushing for peace, no more wars. Russia and China do not want conflict to breakout.. It's the perfect time to negotiate another deal to reduce nuclear weapons for the major nations and push for peace. However, with an ape in the White House, it's unlikely that it will happen unfortunately.
