A couple years back I bought a laptop that I would use for the regular everyday use, browsing the web, using basic programs, etc. A few months back I started having battery issues. Battery wouldn't charge, laptop only powered on when I had it plugged in, laptop would only work with power cable plugged in a certain way, if it moved around just a bit, laptop would shut off since battery wasn't charging and there was no other source of power. Anyways, I got tired of having this issue so I just bought a new PC and haven't touched this laptop in months. Today I tried using it again and same issue was occurring. I searched up the issue online and tried everything I could find. Tried a different outlet, tried a different power cable (even bought a new one), taking off the battery and dusting it off, removing/updating the battery driver, none of it worked so asking here was my last resort. I know a lot of people on here are pretty tech savvy when it comes to computers so i'd thought i'd ask here and see if any of you guys have ever had this issue before and how you fixed it.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

To me mate, it just sounds like a hardware fault with the port. With the cable falling out all the it just sounds like you have worn out the port itself.

The only other thing I would suggets which I'm 99% certain it wouldn't fix your issue is to replace the battery inside of the laptop.

Give me the model number of the laptop and I'll have a look to see if you can replace the input battery port in the laptop. This should resolve your issue!

Any issues let me know dude

Yeah that's what I was assuming with the port, don't know if that's what's affecting the battery from not charging.
It's a Samsung laptop and the model number is np365e5c-s05us.

Just because the port is faulty doesn't mean that's why the battery won't charge. Is it possible? Of course. But it's also possible that you might have a dead battery and a faulty port. Start by replacing the port (If you can on your laptop). If your battery still doesn't charge after that, then you need a new battery.

Considering he said he has to put it in a certain way suggest its 99% chance a fault with the port.

OP: Try removing the battery and plug the charger in and then test if the laptop shuts down unexpectedly. The laptop should and will still work without the battery plugged whilst charging.

I'll put £1 on the port being spoofed.

Laptop does still work without battery plugged in as long as it's connected. Same issue with the port though, if I move it out of that certain position, it'll shut off.
