If GTI is "low insurance" to you, you have a wide range of options. GTI is a great choice! I'm sorry for saying this but next up I would say is the SI

GTI is not low insurance. CL or SE would be the cheaper to insure Golf variants.

Nissan Micra, Volkswagen Polo, Suzuki Swift, Toyota Yaris, Ford Fiesta, Seat Ibiza(just to name a few) are all relatively cheap to insure cars that are pretty easy to find at good prices.

Renault Clio, Fiat 500, Punto, and Citroen C1, C2, and C3 are pretty shitty looking cars and I'd never get one but I imagine inurance prices are pretty good for them.

I'd save up a little more. You're gonna have a real tough time finding something with an engine on the budget. Try to get to around 5000

I doubt you will get cheap insurance for a GTI, but i might be wrong, For my first car I got me a little 1.0 litre Vauxhall Corsa, was like £1000 still which was still alot.

GTI is the opposite of cheap insurance as A LOT of insurance companies list it as a sports car making insurance expensive as hell. I pay close to $350 a month for full coverage over my 07 GTI.
