James Harden signs 4-year, $228 million extension with Houston Rockets

Houston Rockets star, James Harden, has signed a contract extension with the Rockets for 4-years, $228 million. The extension would start in the 2019-2020 season at a salary of $37.8 M, $40.8 M, $43.8 M, and $46.8 M.
Holy. Friggin'. Balls.

This becomes the biggest contract extension in NBA history. I haven't liked Harden since the Thunder had to let him go but he's still a good player with potential. Don't know if he's worth $228M but well, not my money or my team.

Rule changes to better the flow of the game

Approved by the Board of Directors of the NBA, team's timeouts have now gone down from 18 to 14. Adam Silver states: "We were more focused here on the pace and the flow of the game. What we heard from our fans and heard from many of our teams was that the ends of games in particular were too choppy. I think since I was a kid, people have been talking about the last two minutes of our game. We think these new changes will have a significant impact, especially at the end of the game. Also, instead of giving teams three timeouts in the final two minutes of games, they will be given two timeouts in the final THREE minutes.

I wonder how this will play out in critical games during the end of the season. Seeing as how most teams have gotten used to being able to use their three timeouts to make plays and execute them well.

Derrick Rose signs 1-year, $2.1 million contract with the Cavaliers

With all the Kyrie Irving drama and the Cavs organization not making ANY moves at all during the off-season, the Cavaliers have signed Derrick Rose to a 1-year, minimum $2.1 million deal.

Kyrie Irving wants out of Cleveland, "tired of being Lebron's Robin"

If the Cleveland Cavaliers' off-season wasn't already terrible as is, Kyrie Irving has asked the Cleveland Cavaliers to trade him during an all-team meeting 4 days ago. His sights are set on the: New York Knicks, San Antonio Spurs, Miami Heat or the Minnesota Timberwolves. Here's a live view of Gregg Popovich when he heard that Kyrie Irving had interest to join the Spurs:

I'm sure the Cavaliers organization are trying to do everything within their power to keep Kyrie Irving but I'm also sure that this has severed ties with his fellow Cavaliers teammates, including Lebron James who reports say has stated that "he's eager for Kyrie to be traded from Cleveland" (I'm unsure to how true these statements are but Bleacher Report reported about it this afternoon). We'll see where this whole dilemma lands Kyrie in.

Nothing interesting has happened in the NBA since the Cavaliers signed Derrick Rose.

The Kyrie Irving drama continues; Bleacher Report reported that the Cavs would have already traded Kyrie to the Suns if the Suns had offered three of their players. I'll keep this updated as soon as there's word of what Kyrie's fate is; in the meantime, take a gander at the topic and see what's been going on in the NBA 2017 free agency.

LeBron has been pretty quiet about everything happening in the Off-Season, especially about the Kyrie Irving drama. Some credible sources (like Bleacher Report) had reported some supposed comments about LeBron but he commented about them and said that they needed to find better sources of information.
