0day wrote 2016 Chevy Silverado, They're built strong and they look sleek. It's all buyer's opinion on aesthetics and what's under the hood even implementing upgrades. Ford is also a great truck, they are built ford tough. It's a battle like pepsi vs coke. The chevy features for new trucks are outstanding, I would go to a dealership and really figure out what you like best.

Don't get me wrong, when it comes to trucks I'm a Ford guy through and through but when it comes to new trucks, I won't buy Ford. First and foremost I hate the idea of an aluminum bed (the rest of the body is alright being aluminum, just not the bed). Then they always put the cheapest tires on that don't last any amount of mileage and have to constantly be warrantied out and the Ecoboost engines have a lot of troubles. I rent a lot of F-150 when I travel and honestly they have too much power for a truck. Trucks are RWD (some selective 4x4 but still RWD) and there is not a lot of weight in the rear end. Now Ford made the rear end lighter by going to aluminum, and they're pushing 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. It takes nothing to lose traction on dry pavement on a hot day. Now picture that when it's raining or snowing out and you have no control at all. P.S. you can't drive a 4x4 in 4x4 on pavement because it'll lock up the T-case.

I was in the market for a new truck 6 months ago and Ford was the first one off my list. I hated Ram half tons because of the dial shifter and they sit so low so I was stuck with looking at a 3/4 ton which I couldn't afford. I went to a Chevy dealer and the 1500's are nice but Chevy decided to put a big spoiler on the front bumper so it sits really low. Our work truck is a 2015 Chevy 2500 and it's a nice truck that sits at a nice height but again I can't afford a 3/4 ton truck. The Chevy 1500 was probably at the top of my list and I was talking to the guy about my options for lifting it slightly but still keeping all the warranties. As we were talking an older white Ford diesel came in and I asked jokingly "I don't suppose you got any of them around the lot". Turns out the one I was looking joking about had just came in on trade at another one of their lots and they brought it to this one. I went to look it over, took it on a test drive and knew that was my truck.

Anyway, that's how I ended up with a 2006 F-250 King Ranch diesel truck when I was looking at 2017 F-150 / 1500 gas trucks lol. I just think the older trucks are built a little better and can take more than these newer trucks. Not to mention the price difference.

we requested the dealer add this black trim option to the hood. Like a design and they did not. So they are having it done for us. I guess maybe the salesmen never wrote it down, I'm not sure but it isn't that big of a deal
