After days of drama and suspense, President Trump announced Thursday that his administration will exit the Paris climate agreement.

"So we're getting out," Trump said. "The Paris accord is very unfair at the highest level to the United States."

Trumps decision fulfills a campaign promise and satisfies strong Republican opposition to the global climate deal but also isolates the U.S. and is certain to bring condemnation from world leaders and critics in the scientific community.

The Paris Agreement isn't legally binding and it is very flexible, the commitments made by countries which enter it are all voluntary and can be changed within the framework of the accords.
All that is legally binding about it is for each country's progress to be reviewed periodically.
Trump says that US workers will lose jobs which isn't the case, the jobs will just shift from industries like coal to industries around renewable energy.

The Paris Accords is essentially 195 nations all saying, "OK. Let's see what we can do to reduce climate change and we'll see how everyone is getting along every few years. Agreed?"
Everyone but the US, Nicaragua, and Syria: "Of course, that sounds wonderful."

If Trump is planning on rolling back regulations on companies in the US which currently work towards the goal of reducing climate change then when these reviews come around and the US is compared against other nations it's going to look very bad.

Instead of allowing that to happen, Trump decided to claim that it is very unfair to the US and pulled out, because why would Trump want the US to be made to look bad when compared to almost every other country on this planet?

And he really thinks that other countries are going to negotiate what is essentially just a statement of, "Let's do what we can, even if that's not a lot, and help each other along."
France's president has already said: "He committed an error for the interests of his country, his people and a mistake for the future of our planet. We will not renegotiate a less ambitious accord. There is no way."

If you can't actually MAGA, make it so no one can see if you did or didn't MAGA.
