So I've gotten this new job recently and third shift in today I took down the days days of I need off for certain weeks and one period for my holiday which everything has been paid for already and he said I may not be able to have the holiday because it includes one of their busiest days of the year so he needs to ask the woman that's higher up from him. I am yet to be told if it's been accepted or not. If it isn't accepted should I just ask for the rest of the days and call in sick for that day and take the holiday? If it wasn't booked it may not be as bad but it's the fact that it is.

oh I'm going no doubt about that mate! The holiday is in November and it's a 6 month early request so if I don't get it, I'll be going regardless

Depending on where you work, your employer might be in the right here. Most retail stores and companies in the customer service field don't allow their employees to take time off between November and January because it really is such a busy season. Check your work contract, it might be in there.

And depending on where you live you might get fired for calling in sick, especially if it's exactly within the time frame you asked to have time off. Weigh your options, but don't expect to come back to a job if you skip work.

If you call in sick he's gonna know you're not sick because you already told him you need it off.
I'd just leave honestly.
