Resident Evil 7: Biohazard

Initial release date: 24 January 2017
Developer: Capcom
Series: Resident Evil
Genre: Survival horror
Publisher: Capcom
Platforms: PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows

Synopsis

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is a survival horror video game developed and published by Capcom. The game was released worldwide for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in January 2017, the latter featuring support for the PlayStation VR headset. It is the eleventh main entry and 24th entry overall in the Resident Evil franchise. It is the first main series installment to be played from a first-person perspective.
The story follows Ethan Winters as he searches for his wife Mia, which leads him to a derelict plantation inhabited by the Baker family. Ethan makes use of weapons and tools in the fight against the Baker family and creatures known as the "Molded". Healing items are used in the event of injury and there are puzzles that may be solved to further the story. Instead of being action-oriented, the survival horror element present in earlier installments took priority. Thus, the game uses a first-person perspective. It is the first commercially released game developed in the RE Engine.
Resident Evil 7 received generally favorable reviews, which praised the gameplay, graphics, and design. PlayStation VR was hailed for increasing player involvement. However, it was also subject to complaint, with decreased resolution and physical discomfort cited as its chief offenses. Further criticism was directed at the game's boss battles and the final chapter of the game. It had the third-best sales debut in the series and has sold over 3 million copies.

GamePlay

It's a real buzz while progressing through the game as you go through each door you ever know what going to be behind it, and the sounds of the creaking doors, the granddad clocks ringing, and the sounds of the creatures is quite scary. You will come across some really wired thing, like an old woman sitting in a chair, or dead body's that have been touched and hanged. I think the creatures are really scary and really detailed, and the noises they make. Most of the time you can just quickly dodge straight past the creatures know as the molded, and it will save your ammo, or if you're feeling reckless you could fire a few rounds and gun them down, just depends on what mood you're in. If you use your shotgun you will normally get the job done in just a few shots, just depends on what difficulty mode you're using, but if you're using the pistol you're going to have to fire a lot more shots, to kill the creatures. Me personal I like to get me some headshots, or you can always whip out your chainsaw and really go to town. Some of the monsters will have massive swords and chainsaws and will be harder to shoot them, You will have to use your chainsaw sometimes to chain through doors with bars on it.
Throughout the game you will have to find and collect items, by either opening draws, cabinets, smashing creates, or just find items laying around on tables and so on, watch out when you open some things, like lockers as dead bodies will fall out ill be honest it did scare me a bit. These items will help you progress through the game, such as weapons, (grenade launchers, Knifes, pistols, chainsaws, shotguns, explosives, and my personal favorite flamethrowers). You will also come across tape recorders which will save the game for you if you're using a higher difficulty you will need to use a cassette tape, but the game does have an autosave. Also as you progress through the game you will come across videotapes, which will give out clues to solve puzzles and give you information on what you need to do. You Also you will find things like notes, books with information as well, like the telephone rings where Zoe will tell Ethan information on what he has to do.

Plot

The character you will be playing is Ethan Winters who gets a message from his wife Mia who has been missing for years. His wife Mia has been kept a prisoner in an old abandoned mansion, Ethan has to go in the mansion explore until he later finds her in the basement locked in a room and Ethan break's her out, and they start there escape. So Ethan gets a phone call from Zoe who tells him where to go, and Ethan explore's the house until he finds a way out. "I'm going to skip the next part as it's a spoiler and I will add it at the end."
Spolier
After Ethan breaks Mia out from the basement little does he know it but Mia is "possessed" and she try's to kill him repeatedly stabbing him with a knife, and then she gets a chainsaw saw and cuts of his hand, this forces him to kill her but she comes back from the dead and continues to follow him and attack him with the chainsaw. Ethan try's his best to get away, by shutting doors, and so on but she uses the chainsaw to break down the doors and walls, he keeps shooting her but has no effect on her. He then finally kills her, and Ethan continues to try an escape out of the mansion but then he gets attacked by Jack Baker, and Ethan later on wake's up surrounded by the Bake family but then later on Ethan escape's, but Jack Baker follows Ethan and keeps attacking him and Jake regenerate's from gun shots. Ethan then gets a call from Zoe and tell's Ethan that she is Baker daughter and that all of them are infect with ailment, but there is a cure to save them all. Ethan then has to go to an old abandoned house the retrieve the cure, to save everyone.

Graphics & Sound
The graphics for Resident Evil 7 is incredible, there is so much detail, from the blood gushing out of body's, the sounds from the creatures, knife slashing, and stabbing, sounds great. The sounds in the game, like the background music, and the in-game voices from Ethan, and the Baker family, all the characters sound great just like how they would sound is a horror movie. I really loved the weapons, the detail from when Mia was cutting down doors, and through walls, with wood chips flying everywhere, and when Ethan was killing the creatures with the flamethrowers, as they would set on fire and start running up the wall's just looked really great and made the game really enjoyable.

Controls
The controls are simple enough to pick up, quick slots you use your dpad, aim is L2, Guard L1, to run L3, for the map you use the touch pad, attack R2, R3 crouch & stand, action X, cancel O, Inventory triangle, R1 recovery item's, pause menu, options button, square reload, right stick to look around. Overall I think controlling the character was really simple, and smooth and made the game a whole lot more enjoyable

Overall:

Game-play: 10/10
Plot: 10/10
Graphics: 9/10
Controls: 8/10
Overall: 9/10

Awesome review of the game man! This game was great, I've played through it multiple times and even attempted to speed run it haha, My best time speedrunning was 2 Hours 27 Minutes.
I recommend it to any of my friends that enjoy horror games.

Haven't played this one before but I used to be a fan of the series. This one seems like it's the same, scary gameplay. Graphics seem a little lower quality to me than I expected, but the game sounds like it would be extremely fun to play. Great review man
