Synopsis

ASCAR Heat Evolution is a racing video game developed by Monster Games and published by Dusenberry Martin Racing. The game was released in North America on September 13, 2016, for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows. It is the follow-up to the 2015 release of NASCAR '15 Victory Edition and the first developed by Monster Games since NASCAR: Dirt to Daytona was released in 2002.

Game-Play

This is my first NASCAR game on Xbox one, and the gameplay is absolutely amazing, it has about 20 race tracks from the NASCAR sprint cup series, and all the tracks look on point, look like just the real thing and really realistic. There is four different game modes within the game, Career mode, challenge mode, quick race mode, and finally chase for the sprint cup mode, out of all these game modes my personal preference would have to be the career mode. The tracks are really a joy to race, and some, to be honest, are a bit boring and takes ages to go round the track just once, but then again its just like the real thing, some tracks are fun, some of the smaller tracks like the Auto Club Speedway, can be a bit tricky at first but you will get the hang of it quickly, and keeps it interesting. I think it goes without saying my favorite track is, of course, the Daytona International Speedway, as it's my favorite real like event I like to watch on TV, and I think it's awesome I get a chance to race on the track its self. There is a track I'm pretty sure its the Sonoma Raceway track, it's like a normal race track, so not just going around a circle. While going around the tracks theres of course the pit-stop the pit-stops and really cool as well you get to choose what you want to be done on the car, change 2 tyres, or a whole set of 4, how much fuel you want etc, and you get to see your pit crew work on your car. The Drivers, Denny Hamlin is my personal favorite driver and I love watching hI'm on TV, and I think it's great to get a chance to race against hI'm, there is also many top drivers in the game such as Chase Elliott, Kevin Harvick, Danica Patrick, Kurt Busch, Tyler Reddick, and many more. I think the detail of the drivers is really good as well. When you start your career mode you will also get a chance to create your very own driver, and customize his hair, eyes, skin colour, and so on, which in previous NASCAR games you didn't really get that option, so I think that was I nice touch they added it to this game. Now when you first start racing you will notice you will have to qualify for your poll position just like in most racing games, however this can be a bit long as you have to qualify 3 tI'mes, the first tI'me you have to race laps for 20 minutes if I remember right, the second tI'me 10 minutes, and same for the last, but you do get the option to bypass this by it will randomly select a poll position for you normal poll 35 - 40 right at the back. So qualifying is the one thing I hate about this game, its just too long racing around the track by yourself, you just really want to start racing with the other drivers, and cause some mayhem.

Plot

NASCAR Heat Evolution will be hard at first but picks up after you play a few hours, and you will start earning money and XP as you progress in your career. Throughout your career you will have to earn XP points, and money from your sponsors, you can also choose who you want to be sponsored by some will pay more than others but will require you to work harder for it for example come in the top 5 or top 25, or stay in the first poll for one lap, and so on. When you earn enough money you can then go to your garage and upgrade your car, for example, the first thing you have to buy is the garage space which I think is $10,000 after you buy that, you can then go on to tune your car, to make it handle better and go faster. There is a lot of customizing in the garage, more than what I accepted, to be honest, but for really good tunes it's going to run up your price range a lot, so your going to have to grind out the game for a bit, to get you that top ranking, and get your team rank in that number one spot.

Graphics

The graphics in NASCAR Heated Evolution are somewhat incredible, the tracks and cars are so smooth and crisp and so detailed it makes me think I'm in a real NASCAR, I also really love how detailed the first person mode is where your inside the NASCAR you can see all the gauges, buttons, safety net, and so on. I also really like the detail outside of the track which was nice to see, also the sounds are great, hearing the roar of the NASCAR's blazing around the track at 200mph really make me feel I'm there.

Controls

The controlling of the car is absolutely near Impossible to drive without help from driving assists, so I would recommend, to start of your career in an easy mode to get used to the driving, then after you get bored of the driving assists and you feel up for a challenge enable hard more but let me tell you it's really difficult to control your car.

Great review Mikey, this is one of the best I've seen on the site. This game actually sounds like a lot of fun, and I'm not normally one to play nascar games. The graphics look outstanding, especially for a game released a few years ago. Could only imagine what they look like now. Although the plot of the game sounds a bit boring, i could for sure see myself playing this from time to time and enjoy just the racing aspect. I feel like I could probably get my dad playing this one as well. Thanks for another great review man, 10/10 from me.
