Synopsis

X-COM (sometimes stylized as X-Com) is a science fiction video game franchise featuring an elite international organization tasked with countering alien invasions of Earth. The series began with the strategy video game UFO: Enemy Unknown created by Mythos Games and MicroProse in 1994. The original line up by MicroProse included six published and at least two canceled games, as well as two novels. The X-COM series, in particular, its original entry, achieved a sizable cult following and has influenced many other video games; including the creation of a number of clones, spiritual successors, and unofficial remakes.
A reboot series entitled XCOM was published by 2K Games, beginning with the strategy video game XCOM: Enemy Unknown, developed by Firaxis Games and released in 2012 to critical and commercial success, with an expansion to Enemy Unknown, called Enemy Within, being released in 2013 alongside a prequel, The Bureau: XCOM Declassified. A sequel, XCOM 2, has been released in 2016.

Game-play

X-COM 2 is a great strategic turn based game where upon you build facilities on your mother ship for improving your squad to send to missions around the world. It has a wide range of character editing tools, you have set characters with their own skill trees that you improve as you progress throughout the game, to keep your squad members alive. The gameplay is very easy to pick up and understand. Most moves when playing this game, is move your character then do a shooting move or you can do a double moving move, there are skills for certain characters that bend these basic rules of turn play. When doing a shooting move most targets you aim at are only available if you have a line of site sometimes you can only see the aliens if a member of your squad has a line of site, other than that you are adventuring into the endless unknown. The main aspect of the game is to build your mothership to improve your squad members, tools, weaponry, and to save the world through several missions around the world, your actions on deciding which missions to do at your chosen time can affect your deadline and the turn out of the game. There's plenty of side missions and collectibles to help improve your squad to get the job done, you are graded in-game monthly reports that can reward you with supplies or with scientist, engineers elite soldiers to help you progress from the game. X-COM Series is my fall back game when I'm bored of other games, due to the easy game-play at your own past.

Plot

The game X-COM 2 has a story mode that continues from early X-COM games that go as far back as the early 1990s. Which in tails you saving the world from an alien invasion, by improving your home base mothership, that has a big effect on your squad building, and style of gameplay whether you like to jump in feet first or hold back and hold your ground.

Graphics

The graphics are good that makes the game-play enjoyable to play with high detail for you to recognize the difference between your squad characters, the environment has high detail too as well as the alien encounters. But sometimes the camera views can be a little bit awkward in the game-plays missions.
Sound is very suitable for the game it is.

Looks like a decent game, but I would need to see game play for an actual opinion.

From the pictures, it looks alright kinda reminds me of borderlands 2 and call of duty mixed into a game.

Nice review also.

This game looks kind of weird, I guess I'm just not the biggest fan of the genre. The graphics seem really good, but aliens and fire and weapons all look a little off to me. I don't think I'll be checking this one out, but it was a very good review.
