Synopsis

Welcome to the Great Indoors
Dovetail Games Euro Fishing immerses you deep into the adrenaline-packed action, fun, and beauty of Europes most famous lakes. Master your rod, line, and tactics, and refine your technique to become a top angler. This is the closest you can get to real fishing from the comfort of your own couch. Welcome to the Great Indoors!

Game-Play

This is a simply pick up and play game, whether you're a real fisherman or not it has a great feel and lovely first person mode, there's two types of rod casting, Pro casting which is releasing the hook by using the analog motion down and up and release of L2 controller button at the correct time for the hook to be cast out, this can be difficult at first but in first person mode you can easily pick it up, and in this mode you can cast your line much further out into the lakes and rivers. The other casting mode is an easy old school gauge bar mode which is press button start and press button stop to cast out the hook but does not go as far out as the pro casting setting.
There's plenty of hooks, bait, rods, and reels, to purchase with credits that are earned within the game, whether it's an online tournament, online match play or even single player modes. A real fisherman would know the combination for different lake and river settings, but as a none fisherman myself I found it easy to hook a fish even though I am not 100% sure which bait is suitable with which hook to catch a particular type of fish, but there is information on each item that you can read to help you on the way.
This is the first fishing game I have played where you operate 3 fishing rods that can be customized individually plus you get a baiting rod. There is no underwater camera but plenty of tail signs on where the fish may be, from feeding bubbles, jumping fish, and in some clear water areas close to the shore, but it does have an indicator on where your hook goes into the water to tell you if your hook is on rocks, silt, or reeds. If you have no luck there your trusty baiting rod will help attract the fish so you're not spending hours of disappointment catching anything. even though you select your peg to cast your fishing rods from you are able to walk around the lake, and cast from anywhere on the banks, but if you venture too far from your selected casting peg for fishing it will remove you from the peg but you are free to select any peg at any time in most game modes.
The game has not got a lot of rivers and lake but covers different styles of environments and difficulty and a wide range of fish to catch.
As time ticks on as a non-real fisherman you slowly become used to how to reel your fish in with different tensions of the line to catch a particular types of fish whether trying them out or fighting them in, one downfall to the game is sometimes a fish might shoot off to the reeds to hide but sometimes end up going into the land area and snapping your line.
When setting up an online match or single free roam games, you can change the time of day and rotation time per day whether it's night or day. Overall I'm enjoying playing the game as a nonreal fisherman, it's relaxing, fun, and enjoyable to play with friends so I recommend anyone to try it out.

Plot

Have fun in several game modes online and offline, to build up a big fishing tackle box, and to catch particular fish for particular events, and build up a wide range of fish for your resume, and to try and catch all the boss fish on each lake and river.

Graphics & Sound

As we all know many games try to show off their quality of graphics when it comes to water and weather, this game I would say is among the top leaders. The graphics is simple, smooth, and pleasant, but has the odd fault of holding fish, netting fish or the odd rod through your characters legs, that I wish they spent a bit more time on it for realism.
The sound on this game I believe is so excellent that it is as if they went out into the countryside to a lake and just recorded. From planes flying above to fish splashing in the water, and the sound of fly's buzzing around, and birds chirping excellent sound effects, I can't fault it.

Controls

In the beginning, the controls can be a little difficult in pro casting but highly recommend to use this setting when first playing the game to enjoy the game more by casting further and able to catch more bigger fish. Maybe if you still find this setting a little difficult then it is still enjoyable to play in the old school bar casting mode.

Possibly one of the worst games I've played. Didn't like it one bit & I'm a keen fisherman lol
Great review as always though Mikey. I feel sorry for you having to play games like this

Nice review Mikey, very nice and detailed.

Going to pass on this game though, never been a fan of these types of games.

Seems like a pretty fun game, for fishing that is. Probably would take a few minutes to get used to and then would be pretty easy. Cool that they added different modes but all together, even though the review is good, I don't think I'd pay for this.
