I just finished my first ever built and everything seems to work since everything turns on the problem is getting it to boot. I tried switching the ram sticks but nothing seems to work.

Specs are
i5 6600k
Msi gtx 1070
Msi gaming krait 3x motherboard
Corsair vengance 2 4 gigs of ddr4 ram
And psu is corsair cx550m its a 550 watts psu

Also would not having a hard drive have to anything with the problem? Since i dont have one at the moment but i read on google that it dont affect anything that you can go to bios regardless.

Are you sure that the video cable is inserted into the GPU and NOT the motherboard?
How many RAM sticks do you have and are you POSITIVE that they are in the correct dims?
Do you see a code on your motherboard? Sometimes motherboards give out error codes to help diagnose problems.
Are you POSITIVE that all of the correct cables are in the correct places?

Also what spec is the system?

I found out the cause of the problem it was the gpu. As soon as i disconnected it from the psu it boot up to bios and read my ram and cpu. Now the only thing is how can i make it work/boot with my gpu installed. Does it have to do with my psu being 550w ? I highly doub it though.

See if your video card has a dual bios mode, try switching over to it if you do. Could also try another pcie slot, make sure the cables from the psu are seated properly on both ends, also make sure to seat the card properly

My advice is to use a DVI cable, as I assume you're using display/hdmi, for the first boot until drivers are installed. I had this issue when I installed a new motherboard (Also MSI) of mine with a 1070.
