Synopsis

Horizon Chase is a love letter to all retro gaming fans. It's an addictive racing game inspired in the great hits of the 80's and 90's: Out Run, Lotus Turbo Challenge, Top Gear (SNES), Rush, among others. Each curve and each lap in Horizon Chase recreate classic arcade gameplay and offer you unbound speed limits of fun. Full throttle on and enjoy!

Gameplay

Since it's a racing game we all know what the object is, beat your opponents to the finish line first. Horizon Case takes on a few of the games we know of from the past but remastered and I mean a huge step in the graphics. There are over 80+ tracks with I believe 36 different cities meaning you'll get to see sweet environments while coasting down the roads. You'll be put into a third person view from the vehicle you selected out of the 16 vehicles that are actually in the game. Each vehicle has its own stats and of course looks. There are super cars or even some vintage cars you'll be able to ride and compete against your enemies. You are allowed challenge friends in races but just keep in mind whoever has a faster vehicle is going to win the race no matter what. You will be able to pick up turbo in stages pushing your vehicle to new limits for speeds and on the side you'll have the chance to collect coins letting you unlock new vehicles on the way. You will also find yourself side to side with another vehicle but don't be scared to just ram him but be warned that others can do the same to you. I'm truly impressed with the way they made this game and how much better it is then what it was before.

Graphics

There's a lot to talk about for the graphics on this game. Horizon chase uses a polygon engine where most objects but not all will have a polygon look to them. This game is also a really bright game with bright colors that catch your attention, you will barely be seeing colors such as black or grey in this game. Everything that is in the foreground of the game is 3D but of course the background way in the back is not but it does mimic what is going on with the events in the foreground. The game is played so fast you probably won't be seeing much of the structures you'll be flying by but you'll get to see trees, houses, rocks, etc. Now the best part of this game in my opinion is the weather, you'll have the chance in multiple to see just how great the weather is in this game. Some stages you'll be put into a blizzard with snow flying onto your screen or a dark and gloomy night with the moon shimmering the road ahead of you. Sometimes it actually may be dark and almost a hurricane going on but don't worry the weather in this game does not affect the gameplay, its just there to help the atmosphere of the game. The cars in this game out outstanding, each car has its own noticeable look to them and they all just look so amazing! Like I said you'll come across super cars and vintage cars that actually look like its real life car but just put into a game.

Controls

Since it's a racing game you'll always have a gas pedal but there is actually no control for brakes in this game. The game will automatically brake for you but at a slow rate of course. There is also the side to side motion for your vehicle that you'll be controlling with 2 arrows and you'll be using those the most while playing. There is also another button which I was surprised but its for your turbo. If it shows a number for example x1 beside it you are allowed to press the button giving your car a boost. Each button has its own look like the gas pedal button actually looks like a gas pedal so hopefully you'll understand what to press to make your car go. There are no settings for each button but its really not hard to get use to. After my first stage I had it all figured out.
