Synopsis

Far Cry Primal is an action-adventure video game developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft. It was released for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows in 2016. The game is a prequel to the Far Cry series; it is the first game set in the Stone Age. It revolves around the story of Takkar, who starts off as an unarmed hunter and rises to become the leader of a tribe.

Plot

you play as a hunter in the tribe Wenja named Takkar. You and your tride were attacked by a sabertooth tiger killing all the hunters while leaving you seriously injured. You then proceed travelling through Oros ending up meeting with a member named Sayla. You are then brought to her village to find out some of the hunters and women of Wenja tribe have been captured by the Neanderthal-like Udam tribe across the land. You are tasked to rescue and take back the land and hunt down the leader Ull. You come across and rescue many Wenja members who help you upgrade your village and fight along side you when attacking one of Ulls bases. Ulls has multiple bases leading you to destroy and take over them bring you one step closer to killing Ulls

Gameplay

Far Cry Primal is an open world game and is set in 10,000 BC so its nothing like what we have nowadays. In Primal you'll see many extinct animals such as a sabertooth tiger, mammoths, and many more. You'll also see you're not using a gun in this game, you'll be using spears, clubs, bows, and axes to farm plants and take out your enemy. You will unlock an owl to help you spot out enemies and help you through your journey. Similar to the other Far Crys, you'll need to farm crops around the map to craft and upgrade weapons to make them stronger and more durable. You will also be able to craft health bottles and ammunition for your current weapons letting you never run out of ammo in combat. exploring the map of Primal, you are going to discover new animals and interesting points that may take you to a secret missing where you have to fight a rare animal. These rare animals have bounties on their heads allowing you to receive a lot of experience when tamed. Throughout the game you're going to unlock pets by taming each one. When Tamed, you can call any pet you selected to help you in battle or just have him as a companion to have company. You'll also be able to ride certain animals to travel fast around the map. During you're exploring, when night time hits you're going to need to find shelter immediately since the more dangerous animals appear. You'll still be able to skip night by just finding a bed in a village and skipping to how long you want to sleep.

Graphics

Compared to all the other Far Crys, Primal has the best graphics out of them all. With its engine it puts all the textures of the game into reality. The grass on the ground to the leaves in the tree move with the wind affects. You'll also see when riding an animal, whenever you move in a certain direction the fur of that animal will go with it making it realistic. Reflection is another huge concept in Primal, you walk upon a small lake and just see a bright reflection of the sun where you almost need to cover your eyes. On the looting side of Primal, after slaughtering an animal you are required to loot the carcass for any remains that may help you, from that you can see just how violent the games graphics care capable of. Same as other open world games, Primal goes through a night and day process allowing you to see the starry night and the shadows the moon makes in the dark.

Controls

Far Cry Primals Controls are identical to the other Far Crys or any other first person shooter. You have your aim and shooter triggers and then your interact buttons. Easy to get use to and feel really great for this type of game. If you are having troubles or the controls don't feel great, you can change controls in the settings just at the touch of a button. Riding animals or flying the owl companion is similar to driving a vehicle in GTA. You are also able to shoot off a mount making the controls slight harder since you have so many buttons to press at once but is really easy to get use to.

Rating

Gameplay: 9.8/10
Graphics: 10/10
Controls: 10/10
Overall: 9.9/10

I haven't played this game before. The review makes it seem pretty cool, with a great story and setting. If you care about going back and fixing it, the "you" as the first word to your plot is not capitalized
