Well in the nearby pokemon thing it shows every pokemon as 3 footprints far away, and it started today too. Yesterday it was normal and it was actually showing if things were close and changing to 1 or 2 footprints but now it stays 3 with every pokemon that shows up in it.
I reseted the game, deleted the game and downloaded it back again, reseted my phone, and also I walked across my city and every pokemon that shows in the nearby is 3 footprints so its not just me staying in one spot

This is something everyone has been having. People are assuming it's a server side issue right now that is causing it. Right now the servers are down or are buggy for people as apparently Pokemon GO was just release in 20-30 countries. Hopefully once the servers are stable again, the 3 footprint is back to how it should be.
Lost out on finding a Charizard yesterday because I couldn't pin point if I was getting closer or not....
