I currently only have 8gb of RAM but just purchased two 8gb sticks (16gb) and I was wondering, do I just need to swap out the RAM sticks and reboot? Or do I have to configure it in BIOS or something?
Sorry I'm fairly new to this lol

Make sure you have considered the following.
-OS supports 16GB (Most likely does)
-They are in the correct dual channel configuration. Check your motherboard manual because it's different for most motherboards.
-Make sure there the correct sticks for your motherboard.
Other than that don't stick them in backwards and they will work with no configuration needed.

All you do is turn off and unplug your pc then swap the sticks then turn it on and it should be all good

Don't unplug! Flip the switch on the back of the power supply if one is there. Then keep one hand on the metal of the case at all times.
ESD can be a bitch.
