Synopsis

Game Dev Tycoon is a business simulation game available for Windows, Mac and Linux as well as on the Windows 8 Store. In Game Dev Tycoon you replay the history of the gaming industry by starting your own video game development company in the 80s. Create best selling games. Research new technologies and invent new game types. Become the leader of the market and gain worldwide fans.

Plot/Objective

So you start off as an average geek in a garage who wants to start a game developing company, your main objective is to basically become the best selling developer worldwide, you can go through different stages, for example when you make enough money (I think you need 1 Million Dollars) from games, you can choose to move into a office, and that's a next step because then you get to employ staff who can do research for you which unlocks new genre's, new graphics and just thing that will improve your game, as you go long more consoles start to come out, for example you start with a Govodore 64 (Commodore 64) and a PC as that's all there was in the 80's then more start coming out like the NES and the Gameboy etc. Eventually at the end, which you have to play for quite along time to reach, you can make your own console, which you have to move into the next building which has a hardware labs section which is like 5 or 10 Million Dollars to get which i think is really cool.So if you wish to end the game, play a lot of it and you will succeed.

Gameplay

The game is very different and unique to other simulation games in my opinion as ive never seen a simulation game quite like this and quite as good as this, but the game-play essence of it isn't really there as you don't have to do much but click , there's no moving around, exploring , its just making games by moving sliders to your preference, but i like it this way because its still a very addicting game that wants you to play more and gets you intrigued to what else you can make and find, and as always there is some competition, for example if your friends play it too, you could see who can get the most selling game. There is also so many different topics that you want to try out which makes you play it for so much longer until you get them all. As you can see here there are a huge variety of game topics to base your game on, but don't think it ends here, oh no, the ones shown in this image are just a third of the topics on the game.

Controls

The controls on this game are extremely simple, its just moving your mouse side to side, across the screen etc. there may be a few extra buttons on your keyboard like Escape that close a box but apart from that, there is no problem with controls.

Graphics and Music

The graphics on GameDevTycoon are good for the type of game, as its a cartoony styled game, the graphics are pretty good, all smooth pictures, no buggy textures or anything like that, just a base image with great smooth and clean graphics which again is a thing i like in games, if they make it cartoon, at least t#make it look good, and i think Greenheart have done great with the game.
In terms of music and sound effects, it has the same chilling, nice tune in the background, as for SFX, for example when text it scrolling along it makes a cool typing noise as each letter pops up, and also the average click noise when you accept or continue etc. So in all fairness to Greenheart, they have done good with this element of the game too.

Extra's

A few steps into the game when your maybe at your next building (one after garage) you get to enter and make a stall at Conventions like GamesCon and PAX which i think is a really cool feature but instead of the real names they call them like G3 instead of E3, for copyright reasons obviously, here is a look at that.

Another really cool and realistic feature is when you finish developing a game you get get game reviews of reviewers and game magazines and they give you a score out of 10 and if you get 10's and 9's your making big bucks but if you hit the low 1's, 2's and 3's you know your game was a failure. Here is a look at that feature too.
