Synopsis

Become a helicopter pilot and engage in combat missions across the world.
Select from a variety of rotary and fixed-wing VTOL aircraft to complete your missions.
GUNSHIP BATTLE is a helicopter action game that combines stunning 3D graphics with flight control simulation and engaging military scenarios to pull you into an immersive combat experience the moment you start the game.

Gameplay

In this game you control a military chopper that has to do military missions. As time go on you will be able to pilot many aircraft's from blackhawks to buzzards. The first problem I had was the controls for this game as flying was a bit weird. Also the ads for the game were a bit annoying, but it is understandable as this is a freemium game. Most of your activity will be on your ship carrier where you can purchase new aircrafts, equip more weapons, and also engage in new missions. Completing missions will allow you to get money which you can use to purchase, rent, and upgrade aircrafts. The choppers range from real life ones to futuristic choppers. Many choppers though are only available if you make in app purchases which I didn't really like. You are also able to rent choppers for a certain amount of levels which I thought wasn't really a good idea for the developers to implement. It's very hard to grind for money in this game because of the low amount of money they give you for beating missions repeatedly. Missions can get pretty boring and repetitive after a while. Your objective in every mission has to deal with destroying enemy equipment or vehicles and there is no added content to make it more fun. In this game your chopper does have unlimited ammo, but the more you use it the more amount of money you lose at the end of the mission. This is because every set amount of ammo costs a certain price so using a large amount of ammo can make you come out with less money at the end of a mission. Enemies range from tanks to ship carriers and even ground forces. It is best to shoot them from far distances as they can never shoot back. Also there are drops from destroying buildings and other equipment. For example, health drops can appear from destroying enemy forces. These drops do disappear though so you have to act fast. Overall, the game is great, but it lacks content to make it re-playable enough and also sort of forces in app purchases.

Graphics

The graphics for this game are great and look very promising. You play this game in a third person point of view allow for you to look at the vast amount of landscape in each level. Level design for each mission is pretty good and does look nice. Landscape, choppers, enemies and more look very detailed from far distances, but I found that the closer you got to them the worse they looked for some odd reason. Lag was an issue in this game even though it wasn't very high quality. When I would be flying around my chopper would freeze in the air and the game would stop for around 2 seconds. This was pretty annoying so I hope they fix this. Visual effects were done pretty well whether it be from gunfire to explosions from buildings. Overall, the graphics are pretty nice, but with a few bugs that have not been fixed yet I will have to rate this section a bit low.

Controls

The controls in this game are pretty hard to get used to, but a bit easy to understand. The game uses the phones gyro to move the chopper forward and backward. You can move left and right by using the button on the bottom left side of the screen. Now, controlling the chopper with the gyro in the phone is very hard to do including when you have to shoot enemies and get drops from the air. Of course you can change the controls, but it is still very hard to get used to it even after doing that. Shooting is by pressing the button on the lower right side of the screen as well as shooting bombs. You can also switch the sensitivity of the controls which is pretty nice as well. Overall, the controls aren't good to my standards and I think using the gyro for controls was a pretty bad idea.
