Synopsis

Contagion isn't your average Zombie Shooter but instead takes a more realistic and different approach to the popular genre with unique characters, environments, weapons, items, and a built in system that makes every round completely unpredictable with resources, objectives, and paths ever changing.

Gameplay

Contagion can be played singularly, but it only gets better when you play with friends. This game focuses on three game modes, Escape, Hunted, & Extraction. Escape is the more objective based gamemode of the three. You or you and your team mates are given a handful of objectives/tasks to complete beneficiary to your overall objective of escaping wherever you are. The objectives can be fairly simple, depending on how you handle them and how much zombie heat you attract and are overall fun to do with or without friends. Hunted is more of your "Left 4 Dead" infected game mode style mode, where you have your survivors and your zombies, except the zombies are not special infected, they're just regular zombies. Survivors are the hold out against the NPC Zombies while the player zombies try to find a way to kill all the players in order to win the match. Overall a great game mode and tons of fun to play. The third and final gamemode, extraction, is another objective based gamemode, but this one has a different objective than your escape. Your job is to extract as many NPC survivors from the map as possible, and it only gets harder as you extract more. Both the "Extraction" and the "Escape" gamemode are singleplayer so if you have a horrible connection then don't worry! You can experience a good portion of the game still and if you have the ability to, host lan parties with all three game modes!

Graphics

The games graphics are mediocre for a first person game. While they aren't awful, they don't come up to par with today's FPS's and other higher end games(as one can probably imagine). That being said, the company that developed this did an outstanding job considering they're not as famous and well budgeted as companies that can afford to produce graphically high-end games(Treyarch, Bethesda). The game runs and is an easy run on most computers. The one thing that I do not like is the lag spikes that occur once a game session where the game will freeze for one second then go back to being 30-60 FPS. This may not happen on your computers but it does on mine.

Controls

This game has pretty straight forwards controls. Like most PC FPS's, W-A-S-D is to move and Click is to shoot. The controls for even new PC players take 5 minutes maximum to learn. They are smooth and do not hinder gameplay whatsoever. As well, movement and shooting are never laggy so I never have to worry about my shot being a second off from my mouse click(which is important in a game where being one second off can get you killed).
