Synopsis

Smash your way to the Stanley Cup in a casual, fun, target shooting NHL hockey game! By shattering targets and achieving high scores you'll take down NHL opponents head-to-head as you play your way through multiple seasons. Along the way unlock an arsenal of pucks and sticks like The Reaper and the Frost Edge to dominate the competition. Snipe targets with a quick flick or blast through them with a powerful slap shot. Rack up points and bonuses to keep your goal streak alive over three periods. Create your own hockey legend playing for any of the 30 NHL teams. Dominate the league and lead your team to win the most coveted trophy in all of sports - the Stanley Cup.

Gameplay

This game is great for the hockey fans out there like me. This game has official jerseys to wear on your characters as well as teams to play on. Once you start the game you have to create your character before starting the season off. You can edit his name, jersey number, team, and more. There aren't any players from the actual nhl teams that you can play as which I think is kind of a let down for me. They start you off with a tutorial to learn how to play and to also get ready for the first game of the season. You have to swipe your screen in order to hit the puck into the goal. The harder you swipe the higher the puck flies. There are little targets that you have to hit in order to increase the amount of points you get. The targets will change positions as you play and whenever you hit them you can increase your score by 10 points or hundreds of points. Different colored targets give you more points as you play. For example, green targets start you off with 2-10 points every hit and increase the more you hit them. But, red targets start you off with 200-300 points and increase the more you hit them. There are also different targets that don't give you points such as the time target which increases your time on that certain match. Each match has a certain amount of time in which you can try your best to get enough score to beat the other team. After the match is over both teams will compare their scores to see who is the winner of that round. As you play the matches will get harder and goalies and other players will begin to join in on the match ti make it harder for you to score some goals. Sticks and other equipment can give you different advantages in each match that you play, but they do cost silver pucks or gold shields. You can get silver pucks or gold shields from completing matches in the seasons, playoffs, and Stanley Cup Games. You can also get xp from completing matches which can unlock sticks and other equipment when you rank up. Matches aren't always too challenging which I like because it doesn't make the game frustrating. This game is pretty fun and it's best when played in short bursts. Overall, this game is pretty fun and I would definitely recommend it to the hockey fans out there.

Graphics

The graphics in this game are quite nice, but not the best. You view the player from third person point of view while playing which is great for viewing your shots. The audience has poor detail into them and are 2d, but that's only because people don't pay attention to them as much. The audience does change the color of their shirts for each team that plays which I do think is kind of cool. The colors of all of the jersey's are correct and look nice. What I like is if you hit 3 goals in a row your puck will set on fire and your player will begin to start steaming. The matches seem lively whenever you hit goals as the crowd begins to rise and cheer for you. Animations are very smooth and I have never had any frame drops in this game. Overall ,the graphics are nice for this type of game and it really makes you feel like a king when you get the fire shots.

Controls

The controls for this game are very easy to understand, but hard to master in the beginning. When first playing the game you have a tutorial to go through to get you started with the game. In order to hit the puck you have to swipe up on the screen. Now, swiping in any direction will make your character hit the puck in that direction. Swiping hard will make your player hit the puck harder. Swiping down and then up quickly will have your character make a hard shot which is good to use when you are far away from the goal. It's hard to get the swiping down as you never really know how hard you have to swipe in order to hit the target. Overall, it's pretty simple to learn, but could have been better to use in game.

Ratings (Personal)
