Synopsis:

Spartan Total Warrior is a hack and slash game wherein the player is able to use two main types of attack; a simple attack which damages one enemy, and a radial attack that damages multiple enemies. The simple attack is fast and causes more damage; the radial attack is slower, but damages multiple enemies moderately. One button is used to initiate the single attack, and a different button to initiate the radial attack. However, each attack can be modified in certain ways; for example, rather than using the character's weapon, the player can initiate either an individual or a radial attack using their shield, their bow or their magic power.

Story:

Welcome to Spartan Total Warrior, this game takes you back into time when gods walked among men and only the strongest survived. You play as a spartan warrior who is guided by the god Ares. Who fights along side his Greek brothers as you and your brothers fight off a invading Roman Army. As you fight off the Romans you must also lead your army into battle and be strategic about what you are doing other wise either you will die or your brothers will. You must push the Romans back and win this war, otherwise you may never get a chance to fight them off ever again. As you push them back show no mercy because they will show you none. Lead your troops well and always be the first to charge into battle. It is now up to you to fend off the Romans, you are the last hope for us.

Gameplay:
Spartan Total Warrior is a very interesting game that will drawn you into it just because it looks like a really interesting and fun game. This game is a very unique play style that I personally really enjoy. You play as a spartan and your job is really to just kill anything that is a threat to you. Sense you have the gods on your side this does make it a lot easier for you to achieve victory. As you start playing you will notice all your friendly AI's you have on your team and how big some of these battles and fights will really get. It is really fun running at enemies with a whole army following you into battle it really makes you feel like you are in a huge battle. As you start fighting Romans you will get to use special powers sense you have the gods helping you it is really helpful being able to kill your enemies in multiple of ways. Not only do you have a sword and shield but you can also use a bow and arrow to slay the Romans it all just depends on your play style. The other thing I really like is the huge chain attacks you can do on a huge group of enemies. You can literally kill like 15 Romans at once with some of your attacks which really makes the game really fun. The missions are really fun as well, I personally really like charging into battle with like 50 AI behind you charging as well. The AI move well and fight well too, they look act like actual players and not just bots. The game is played in a third person type view which I think fits the game extremely well I like being able to watch my character fight. Overall this game is really amazing and is truly something to check out. This is one of my favorite games of all times and I think it would be for anyone else too if they got a chance to play it. It is a very fun game with amazing game play I do recommend it to anyone.

Graphics:

The graphics for Spartan Total Warrior are actually pretty decent I think. I am a huge fan of attention to detail which this game kinda has. Some things are not to detailed in this game like walls and grass and such but the actual warriors and fighting equipment are pretty detailed which I do like. I personally really enjoy watching all the AI soldiers fight and with so many on the battle field at once I have never noticed any type of clipping which I was a bit surprised by based on when this game was released. There is a lot of different shades of colors in this game and honestly they all mix well and do not look to over done. The atmosphere of every mission is so well done that it helps you let your mind go and visualize yourself actually there fighting. I wish this game was remade honestly for the new consoles and let someone redo the graphics and keep the game the same because honestly I think it would be a huge it. Overall I do like the graphics and think they are really well done overall. They really are nice to look at and I was impressed my first time playing the game. Especially for when this game was released I think the graphics are still pretty decent.

Controls:

Spartan Total Warrior has a very interesting controller layout. The basic controls are easy to learn and remember but there is a lot of combination hits you can do which do require a lot of different buttons in a certain order which can be really hard to remember. I personally only used basic controls and found the game to be just as fun and a lot easier to play. There is a pretty good tutorial in the game that I found really helpful at times and I think it is good for any new play to really try out to really understand all the controls. Overall I think the controls fit the game really well and are user friendly for the most part. I found this game relaxing and intense at different times because of the control layout which I like also. I think anyone could really get use to these controls and the tutorial is pretty good at explain the harder ones to learn and remember.
