Synopsis:

Fight Night Round 3 was developed by EA Chicago, formerly NuFX. It is the third boxing title in the Fight Night franchise. It features the usual improvements such as better graphics and gameplay. "Impact Punches" are one of the most drastic changes, along with ESPN Classic fights and a new career mode, in which the player fights to gain popularity in order to reach sponsored fights, or to be featured on ESPN. Unlike in older versions, Round 3 defaults without a heads-up display (HUD), allowing a player to judge the status of their stamina and energy based on their stance, movements, and facial features, instead of the usual stamina meter.

Story:

Welcome to Fight Night Round 3, The world of boxing and your the new guy trying to make a name for himself. As you begin your career in the ring you will start from the bottom just like everyone else and you will have to work your way up to the top. Which in this case sounds a lot easier then it really is. You will come across many opponents who will try to knock you down and defeat you, but you will need to overcome these opponents and show everyone who the real king of the ring really is. As you start fighting your way to the top your ultimate goal is to get sponsored fights or even be featured on ESPN. It is now the time to tie up your gloves and get ready to prove to the world who the new king of the ring is.

Gameplay:

The game play for Fight Night Round 3 is extremely fun and intense. As you start you start at the bottom just like any other new fighter that wants to get into the ring. You must prove yourself as a new fighter to all the fans on sponsors watching if you want to succeed in the world of boxing. As you first start out you opponent will not be that difficult and you will be able to take them pretty easily but as your progress through your career and start moving up you will be going against some of the greatest boxers ever seen in the ring. If you are to beat them you must be ready for the fight and make sure you have everything you need to become victorious. As you start winning fights you will become more known and eventually if your lucky enough to receive sponsor fights or even possibly be featured on ESPN. The game play for this game is really fun as well. being able to control your own fighter and protect yourself and punch back it really is like real boxing. I was really impressed with the game play when I first started playing. The only down thing I found was this game got really repetitive after a while. But it is still fun to play and watch all the hits you take and give out to your opponent. I really like how realistic it feels watching you give your opponent a combo of different punches and them falling down or falling on the ropes just to either keep beating your opponent up or having them start hitting you multiple times and all you can do is block until you can get a punch in to get him to back off. Hearing the crowd either cheer or boo you is neat too because it really makes you feel like you are really fighting in the ring. Overall the game play for this game is really fun and addicting. It did get a bit repetitive for me personally but I still play it from time to time. This is a intense boxing game that will take all your skills and strategic thinking if you are to get far in this game. I recommend this game to anyone who enjoys boxing or is looking for a different type of sport game.

Graphics:

The graphics for Fight Night Round 3 are pretty impressive. I personally was extremely impressed by the overall looks of this game and the attention to detail. The graphics for this game are really cool especially when there is a fight going on. When you throw a punch and hit your opponent you can see all the sweat come flying off his head and if you hit him hard enough to cause him to bleed you will notice all the blood dripping down him and flying off him when you hit him. This game is extremely realistic looking and I am really impressed with the looks of the game. The boxers move extremely well and look very realistic. The other thing I really like is the ring and how real the ropes look. I really think the developers did a good job on the graphics for this game. Overall the graphics for this game are really good and should impress most gamers that try it out. I personally really like the attention to detail the game has and how realistic the boxers look and how real the atmosphere around them looks. If you are looking for a detailed sports game then I do suggest picking this up.

Controls:

The controls for Fight Night Round 3 are both basic and advanced but it really all depends on the way the gamer plays the game. For me I could only get the basic controls down and even for just knowing the basic controls I was able to still have a lot of fun and learn my play style for the game well. But if you are looking to get into the advanced control layout for this game it might be a bit difficult to learn at first but I just did not see the need to learn more then the basics. But I do think the controls fit the game really well and I do enjoy playing this game because of how easy it is to remember the controls. They really do make you feel like you are the actual boxer in the ring trying to win the fight. Overall I think the controls fit the game well and are pretty decent to learn. They really help make it feel like you are actually boxing and not playing a game. Anyone can learn the basics for sure but for anything else if you are having trouble just look into a tutorial.

Overall:

Gameplay: 8.8/10
Graphics: 9/10
Controls: 8.5/10
Overall: 9/10
