Synopsis:

Resident Evil is about A Special force team was sent to investigate a murder on the outskirts of Racoon City. When they arrive they are attacked by a pack of zombified dogs and were forced to take refuge in a mansion close by where more evil looked to be at work.

Plot:

The Plot behind Resident Evil would be that a special force team the members being Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, Albert Wesker, and Barry Burton are sent to investigate murders but are attacked by a pack of dogs and had to go and take refuge in a mansion where Chris or Jill will disappear. After doing a bit of investigating with Chris or Jill, Wesker will disappear and then you work together with Barry Burton to investigate whats going on whilst looking for Chris/Jill and Wesker.

Gameplay:

The Gameplay in Resident Evil can be a bit daunting due to the camera angles being awkward and the direction you have to point the analog sticks change every time the angle changes, so it can get really frustrating especially when you have a zombie chasing you and you can't see him because the camera angle is hiding him. If you can get over the cons of the game then in my opinion you will thoroughly enjoy it. The game consists of solving puzzles, surviving zombies whilst being really low on supplies, and un-discovering the mysteries of the mansion.

Graphics:

The Graphics in Resident Evil Remastered is a huge step up from what it used to be and truly shows how amazing the graphics have become.

As you see above the graphics compared to the original is outstanding. Its hard to even compare the difference in graphics between these two as its just too great of a difference but to start of the detail in the character has had a dramatic change as he is more fleshed out and distinguishable to the other characters. The lighting in the room and coming of the character in the re-mastered version compared to the ps1 version which just shows you how far we have come since then.
The detail of the building has took a dramatic change as they is a lot more distinguishable features such as the carpet going along, the floor the wood on the bottom half of the wall, the doors which has been elaborated more.
One scene that I loved in the game and made me notice the amazing change in the graphics, would be the scene where you first made contact with a zombie.

Fun Factor:

There is a considerable amount of fun in this game and if you like to complete puzzles, fight of hoards of zombies and other monstrosities with a limited amount of supplies, finding out mysteries about the area you are in, and also if you like to experience twists that will leave you shocked this will definitely be the game for you.
The parts I found fun in the game besides killing zombies would definitely finding out the story behind the mansion since you uncover so many mysteries of what has happened within it. I found some parts of the game frustrating like trying to find out what to do next since you dont get a direct answer on what you are doing you just have to find out yourself.

Sound:

The sound in this game was great especially the zombies, when you hear a zombie in the same room your heart rate increases and at times you will jump out your skin from a zombie screaming at you after playing dead. The voice acting in my opinion is pretty bad compared to other games as I found them very cringe worthy to listen to pretty much the same as the first resident evil. The majority of the time you dont really realize the repeatable sound throughout the game which shows just how great a job they did on the sounds. They isnt any real significant sound when youre in danger in this game which in my opinion isnt really needed anyway since the zombies scream is enough to make you panic and sense that you are in danger anyway.

Replay ability:

They is replay ability in this game but not really enough to play it more than maybe 2-3 times since you will be just doing the same thing over and over again so it would get boring eventually. They are challenges in this game like completing the game under a set amount of time, completing it without using your saves, completing it with only your knife so I guess if you enjoy challenging yourself in these types of games than they will be a bunch of replay ability in this game.

Controls:

The controls in Resident Evil arent bad its mainly the camera view in the game which makes them incredibly annoying but they are bearable once youve played it for an hour or two. The controls are you basic up is up down is down. To interact with objects you click X/A, to open your inventory you click, triangle/Y, R2/RT to open map, R1/RB to use equipped weapon, L1/LB is to aim your gun, L2 to use the defensive object, and Left analog stick and square/X to sprint.

Conclusion:

In conclusion this game is a huge success and is really worth the money and time. The game has some real iconic scenes which I enjoy for example the first encounter with a zombie. Obviously they are some down falls like the camera view which can be irritating at first but eventually gets bearable. The 3 main parts of the game (Killing zombies/ completing puzzles/ Finding the mysteries of the mansion) is really enjoyable and it really zones you into the game in my opinion.

My Ratings:

Plot: 9/10
Gameplay: 6/10
Graphics: 8/10
Controls: 9/10
Fun Factor: 8/10
Overall: 8.5/10
