Title: Scania Truck Driving Simulator
Genre: Indie, Simulation
Developer: SCS Software
Publisher: SCS Software
Release Date: 12 Jun, 2012

Synopsis:

Get behind the wheel of one of the most iconic trucks on the road with this highly detailed Scania R-series truck simulation by SCS Software, developers of Euro Truck Simulator 2. Prove your truck skills - Put your driving skills to the ultimate test with 10 individual truck maneuvering challenges that serve as a practical exam as you strive to gain your driving licence. Complete intricately designed courses and tasks, in realistic environments that put you firmly into the driver's seat.

Gameplay:

The gameplay is very relaxing, this is not a game for someone looking for intensive driving experience, it's more for the sort of person who likes challenging driving tasks whilst in a relaxing atmosphere. The game itself has some brilliant tasks for the player to complete some can be really challenging, so it's not a walk in the park like some expect. Now, this being a simulator and all, the realistic aspect of the game had to be spot on, and I'd like to say that they have done it proud. There is not a single thing I would change about the gameplay of it at all. Now, the start of the training is getting you used to the lorry you'll be using throughout the game, learning it's maneuverability, braking distances along with how to reverse a trailer properly. Now if you don't take this seriously it will do way more harm than good in the long run.

The tasks/missions are separated into difficulties for the player to choose which they'd prefer, these range from the easiest of parking tasks to driving on snowy mountainous roads while dodging obstacles and other cars/trucks. Like I said before, some of these can be quite daunting and quite tricky in some places. So only the best of the best will make it through. Other than that there isn't much more to the game, as it's single player only, don't go buying this game for hours of fun with friends, as it just wont happen. But if you like a serious sit down with a driving game, then this is the game for you.

Graphics:

This is by far the games party piece, the graphics are astounding. Like nothing I've seen in a game before. The scenery is super high detail with everything down to the exhaust smoke looking brilliant. The road surfaces make the effect even better when driving one gravel and other rough surfaces, you can almost feel every bump and every mound. It's great. The effects on the lorry itself is great, the outside of the cab the paint jobs are clear as day and it's all made better with the glare from the sun, just everything about the scenery and realistic weather conditions have been made to perfection. Now yes, I know this is the same on most simulation games, but I thought I had to point it out as they are just outstanding.

Controls:
Well, now this bit is pretty straight forward, every single button that can be used can be binded and customized to any other button you want, so the layout is pretty much different for everybody. But anyway, the default controls are great, but this is not a game you can play unless you have either a controller or Steering wheel, that is just a must, the corrections needed for the delicate maneuvers, so playing this game with a keyboard is silly and almost impossible. The controls of the truck itself are great with mouse doing the movement of the camera and the controller/steering wheel doing the movements, it has the perfect combination for most driving games.
