Game Description
Original Developer: Alexey Pajitnov ( Russia )
Publisher: Nintendo
Platform: PC
Release Date: June 6, 1984

Synopsis
Tetris is a popular game that was developed in 1984 by Alexey Pajitnov (Pazhitnov), Dmitry Pavlovsky, and also by me. Mr. Pajitnov and Mr. Pavlovsky were computer engineers at the Computer Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences. I was a 16-year-old high school student. My computer science teacher Arkady Borkovsky brought me to the Computer Center of the Soviet Academy of Sciences where I worked and played with IBM PCs. I quickly learned programming and enjoyed working on various fun computer projects
The objective of Tetris, like so many other single-screen video games, is to stay alive for as long as possible while scoring as many points as you can. The game begins with one of seven differently shaped blocks falling down the playfield. This block is followed by another, and another. Each of the seven block shapes is composed of four small squares.

Tetris is the ultimate puzzle game developed on computers by Team Nintendo, then was one of the first ever console games to come out ever . The Tetris series holds the world record for the number of the exact same games remade over different platforms(ALMOST 50MILLION COPIES). Matter of fact, almost every console and computer hardware has Tetris available. It's quite surprising how many copies of the exact same game is out there in and around the world, over the numbers of softwares.

Gameplay
In Tetris, you have to mastermind a 2-dimentional platform by the size of 10 x 20, by stacking objects which originally had 6 different shapes called "Tetromino", which includes Cyan I, Yellow O, Purple T, Green S, Red Z, Blue J and finally Orange L. By clearing each row and lining up each row with a block, you will be able to vanish all blocks on the line, making all the blocks above to fall down as manny lines you have cleared. You lose the game when the space get filled with blocks, failing to line them up. You will get scores by clearing each row, and will achieve more bonus points by clearing several rows at once. there are levels in the game, the higher the level gets, the faster the gravity work, shortening your time to strategize. Levels increase each set minuet. In other words, the longer the game gets, the higher the level rises. You can compete in Tetris by the final score and the lines cleared in total.
tetrominos spawn from the top of the platform, The I and O spawn in the middle columns, rest spawning in the left-middle columns. The tetrominoes will all spawn horizontally and with their flat side pointed down. You will have to take control of the tetrominos by changing their rotation and their horizontal position. You are allowed to make them come down, but never go back up, making every move for the causes of finishing the game.

Graphics
The original Tetris came black and white/black and green, since the computers didn't have colourful lights available. The first ever Tetris on a console on, which was on the Gameboy in fact, introduced blue, yellow and red into the mix, making it the first coloured game.
The colours changes between levels, each level has it's own colour correction to the tetrominos, and they will start to fall quicker and quicker as the spaces get filled. The Audio track is a constant repeat of 2 melodies, the only differences to the sound track is that the speed changes through out the game: it gets faster if you are in a high row, slower if you are in a low row.

Controls
Even though this game has over 100 copies over different platforms, every platform has the exact same controls. The Horizontal keys will move the tetrominos parallel from right to left or left to right. The Vertical keys are independent to each other, the up key eiwll change the rotation of the tetromino 90 degrees clockwise at a time. the down key will
rotate the tetromino 90 degrees counterclockwise. And finally the "A" or "O" key, which allows gravity to take over the tetromino, forcing itself to fall straight down in a very high speed.
