Synopsis
Everything changed with the arrival of the Traveler. It sparked a Golden Age when our civilization spanned our solar system, but it didn't last. Something hit us, knocked us down. The survivors built a city beneath the Traveler, and have begun to explore our old worlds, only to find them filled with deadly foes. You are a Guardian of the last safe city on Earth, able to wield incredible power. Defend the City. Defeat our enemies. Reclaim all that we have lost. Be brave.

Gameplay
This game starts you off by selecting one of three classes, Titan, Hunter, or Warlock. You proceed to finish your characters customization in race, gender, and various other visual customizations. This game plays in my opinion like a mix between a lot of games, I feel it draws some of its features from Halo, seeing as its created by the same developer, It makes sense. This game or beta in this case features 3 person fire teams that can be active at any time ( except during the tutorial mission.) Each one of these classes play a lot different from one another, The Titan being the armored tank who uses his/her strength to smash the ground and release a devastating shockwave to decimate foes. The Hunter being a scout of sorts using precision to pick off foes with his/her golden gun. The Warlock an embracer of the magic abilities of the traveler and uses these abilities to launch a powerful bomb to disintegrate those in your way.

Plot
In this beta the player is given a few story missions to play through on different difficulties, You being a guardian of the last city must fight through various races of enemies to achieve a specific goal. The first mission presented to you is a tutorial mission to show you the ropes of the game with the controls. You escape with a new jumpship and then arrive at the tower, which happens to be the hub for guardians. Other missions have you gather warp drives that allow travel among the stars. As well as learn the of the warmind and a survivor of the darkness. The strike mission "Devil's Lair" provide a replayable story mission to earn some well earned loot.

Story
From what I have played I really have enjoyed the beta. The missions are set up nice and somewhat reminds me of a World of Warcraft quest feel, cause the missions can be played more than once without feeling like it gets old. The strike mission I really enjoy because of the constant feel for better loot. The game provides a good introduction in the the lore with the alien races and back-story. I am really looking forward to playing the full version to enjoy all Destiny has to offer. This beta definitely got me excited for the full version cause I personally love PvE situations and will more than likely play the strike missions most of all.

Graphics
I only got the opportunity to play on the 360, but that being said it still is completely amazing. I'm not sure on how much the change would be to the Xbox One compared to the 360 version but I feel that this game still holds all of the detail present in the next-gen version. This game visually is stunning and I really enjoyed how this turned out. The graphics in this game are by far some of the detailed I may have seen. I love how Bungie made this look, It is a lot like Halo but at the same time its different enough to distinguish itself,I spent sometime just exploring and looking at the surroundings or just drive around on my sparrow and just travel till my hearts content (I do have a large heart so I could spend quite sometime doing so.)

Multiplayer
Well in this game everything is multiplayer, at any point (except for the tutorial mission) can be played with other players you can join a fireteam to play through missions or just encounter players when exploring the world. There is a PvP portion to this game and It is a really awesome experience, It reminds me of the Halo multiplayer but with a distinct new aspect that has to be experienced first hand. It is really fast paced and mostly relies on skill of players with headshots or for some vehicles are available in one of the two maps included in the beta. You can execute skilled decisions by waiting for certain moments in gunfights for example activating your super can change the outcome of gunfights, so timing is a thing that can be used to help you in this portion of the multiplayer.

Controls
The controls for this game are a specific set much like the Halo controls. There are separate layouts you can use to play the game. Me personally I stuck with the default setup cause I particularly like how it feels and are really simple and easy to adapt to, after a while these controls will be familiar. Now these aren't exactly Halo controls but they are closely similar with a few added button inputs of course so you can use supers as well as slide into battle. One thing I particularly liked was that each character had a extended jump whether it be a double jump or a thrust into the air or even a glide after jumping I liked how this was brought into the game, Its not like the armor abilites from Halo where it is mapped to the left bumper. This is simply just applied to the jump button, which is nice.

Ratings
Gameplay - 9.5/10
Plot - 9/10
Story - 9/10
Controls - 9/10
Graphics - 10/10
Overall - 9/10

Personal Note: If you have the ability to play this beta, I recommend it highly as it is astounding and fairly extensive. Even if you don't want to try out the game, I would say to at least try it. Give it a chance, Im glad I did.

You can't really review a game which is not finished being developed, wait until the game is finished before reviewing because things will change in the game before release. You wouldn't review a rough copy of a book so why review the equivalent rough copy of a game.

Read the title.

"Destiny Beta - Review"

He reviewed the beta variant of the game. Not the full game. And, furthermore, if staff deemed it unfit for posting a review on the beta of the game, they would not have posted it.
