Synopsis
Dead Space 3 brings Isaac Clarke and merciless soldier John Carver on a journey across space to discover the source of the Necromorph outbreak. Crash-landed on the frozen planet of Tau Volantis, Isaac must comb the harsh environment for raw materials and scavenged parts. He will then put his engineering skills to the ultimate test to create and customize weapons and survival tools. The ice planet holds the key to ending the Necromorph plague forever, but first Isaac must overcome avalanches, treacherous ice-climbs, and the violent wilderness. Facing deadlier evolved enemies and the brutal elements, Isaac can choose to team up, not only for his own survival, but for that of mankind's. Play together with a friend or go it alone as Isaac Clarke using the seamless new drop in, drop out co-op functionality. Each mode offers unique story elements and gameplay.

Gameplay
In Dead Space 3 you, the player, get to take control of the previous main character, Issac Clark. Clark is back again and this time with a new friend. This game is the first within the series of the three games to offer co-op, which is where the new character, Sgt. John Carver comes into play. Issac and his new friend are still fighting the Necromorphs. (basically zombies, that were revived by an alien artifact, the Marker) Issac's famous RIG (Resource Integration Gear) suit makes a return in this third installment of the series. The suit and weapons (some) in the game show ammo counts, health, etc Another addition to this game that they didn't have previously is the fact that when you are in the vacuum of space your suit will have a timer on your shoulder showing how much air you have left before you need to find an air canister or refueling station. One more, of the additions to this game is that Issac and Carver both can roll, take cover, and use cover to steady their weapons when firing! Lastly returning to the game is the use of the weapon upgrading benches from the second game. They have made it better though by letting players further customize their weapon and make all new weapons from the bench as well. There are a slew of new enemies in this game as well, such as human enemies, making this game my absolute favorite in the series so far!

Plot
This game starts on an oddly shaped, ice planet, Tau Volantis. A team of armed forces from the colony on this planet are there to retrieve a Codex from one of the doctors the team presumes dead. When you find the Codex you also find some Necromorphs to boot, and must run which in the chaos of things causes an avalanche. You bring back the Codex to your commanding officer and he sees that you are the last survivor with himself and he offs you, erases the Codex data, and kills himself. The game picks up 200 years later with Issac and his now ex girlfriend, Ellie. He and Ellie had met and formed a relationship in the events of the second game where you are fighting the Necromorphs on a space mall, known as the Sprawl. Robert Notron, Captain of EarthGov go and get Issac from his apartment on the moon, and request his help in finding Ellie and her lost team. On the way off the Moon the group is attacked by some Unitologist soldiers in which the team barely escapes, but not before the leader of the Unitologist group activates a marker and makes yet another Necromorph outbreak! They drop you into the mix of things in this game and make for a really fun learning experience. The player must quickly be sucked into the dark and scary world that Dead Space 3 has to offer. The game makes for a fun experience and I would definitely recommend it to anyone that hasn't played as of yet!

Story
The story of this game is amazing to say the least. This game is modeled somewhat after the previous games. This is a good thing if you are into third person shooter games, that also have a scary/horror aspect to them. This game drops the player into the mix of things very quickly, and has you making life or death situations fairly quickly, which in my opinion makes for a great time. The game has a lot of jump scares, gore, and cursing, so if that isn't your thing, don't play the game. The game is rated mature and for good reason. It is not needed for you to play the other games to get the storyline in this game, but it makes for a better experience if you do. The gameplay and story of this game is the best in the series for me, and I feel that anyone that gives this game and it's amazing, yet scary storyline a chance, will not be disappointing. Last but not lest, If I remember correctly this game has 13 chapters for you and possibly a friend to experience together. This is one of the longest games I have played, and definitely the longest Dead Space game that I have played.

Graphics
The graphics of this game somewhat resemble that of the other games. The graphics within this game make for an visually amazing and scary experience for the players, as well as trying to make the world that this game creates, look beautiful in it's own scary little way. The suit looks graphically enhanced compared to the other games in the series, as well as the weapons that Issac and Carver get to use. They kept the same feel and look of the graphics of the other games within the series, as well as updating them and making them look great! I feel that the graphic department of this game did this game some justice, because in other Dead Space games I felt that they rushed a little or didn't refine things as well as they could have, but I do not feel that when playing/looking at this game. Overall, the graphics in this game are the best of any Dead Space game that I have ever played, and the graphics of this game revial other games as well!

Controls
The controls in this game are that of the previous installments of this series of games. The controls are close, if not exact to other third person shooters and therefore if anyone has played any of those they should be more than okay with the controls of this game. The developers of this game did fine tune some controls though, because they wanted to give the player some more control and make it a little easier for them to go head to sharp tentacle thing with the Necromorphs! The controls within this game offer many different controller layouts and button controls. I feel as I always feel that the default works fine for me, and therefore I never change it. But, should you want to change it, you can, and there are many different options within controller settings to choose from. Lastly, just a tip, you have to have some pretty quick reactions in certain points in this game to avoid death and or being scared half to death, so, if you can do it, I would recommend you bump up the game's sensitivity just a tad to make it a little easier to flip around on those pesky Necromorphs!

Multiplayer (co-op)
The multiplayer in this game makes this game special. The multiplayer, or co-op I should say hasn't been in any of the other Dead Space games. The co-op is drop in/out for all 13 chapters of this game. You and a friend are up against all odds, and a lot of Necromorphs throughout the entirety of this game. The bond that you and a friend get to have when playing through the game together is a fear bond, unlike any other, and it makes you and your buddy closer as friends from playing through the jump scares, covering each other, etc I feel that the multiplayer made this game, and I had so much fun playing through the mostly lonely world of Dead Space with a friend, so that the game wasn't so lonely and scary. I also enjoyed experiencing the game with a close friend and hearing his commentary and what not while playing. I feel that if you have the option of playing with a friend, you should as it is the more fun experience in my opinion. It is also good to note that there are three missions in the game that you can't even access as it is co-op ONLY.

Ratings
Gameplay - 8/10
Plot - 8.5/10
Story - 8/10
Controls - 8/10
Graphics - 8.5/10
Multiplayer- 9.5/10
Overall - 9.5/10

Personal Note: This game was my favorite within the series of these three games, and I had so much fun playing through this with my friends. This game is still scary, still bloody, and still fits to the Dead Space gameplay experience, but it makes for a really fun one and I feel that it is the best in the series. Therefore, I would recommend that you either start with this one, for the better experience first, or play through all the games up to this one for the true Dead Space experience and get to experience the set of games like my friends and I got to. I would definitely say to buy this, just, be ready to be scared!

Surprisingly this one didn't have that scare factor like Dead Space 2 did, but was still a great game overall. Really enjoyed the co-op though.
Also enjoyed enjoy half the time just to see the nasty and unique death scenes by those necromorphs.

I liked the game very much, Sadly I didn't feel like getting the difficulty achievements in this game and just get what I felt like such as the kills, maps and 2-player achievements, 55% is alright.

This game was one of my favourite games once it came out.
It had its scary moments. Hopefully they'll make another one soon because I enjoy the Dead Space games.

But really nice review. Has a lot of info on the game and tells me what exactly I need to know. Good Job!

You know, I understand that some people hate this game because it left the SH roots, but in all honesty, it's still worth a playthrough. Awesome review man
