In this shocking conclusion to the Lords of Shadow saga, Dracula returns once again, weakened and yearning for release from his immortal bonds. Gameplay
As in the first game within this series, you play as Gabriel, who is now formally known as the original vampire, Dracula. This game has a somewhat open world fighting style to it that makes for a unique story and gaming experience. During the starting of this game you get to play as the strongest form of Dracula. Your main weapon within this game is the Shadow Whip, which is used to pull enemies closer to you so that you can use other weapons or hand to hand combat. There are two new items/weapons called the Chaos Claws and the Void Sword and they replace the other game's use of magic. The sword refills Dracula's health, the claws are used for breaking defenses and opening those pesky blocking enemies up for an attack! Last but not least, this game is notably longer than the previous game in the series. Also, the world is now open, which it wasn't in the previous installment of the series, as well as having a player movable camera, something the first game did not have.

Plot
This game starts out by recapping what users might have missed out from the original game. You learn/relearn about Gabriel becoming the all powerful vampire, Dracula. Along this relearning experience you get to see that Gabriel ends up killing his son, and later reanimating him in the same instance. You also get to meet Gabriel's grandson, Simon. The game starts with knights attacking Dracula's castle in an attempt to slay him and clear the world of vampires, in which they utterly fail and Dracula in turn slays all of them as well as re-meet his slain son, in which he killed. A thousand years of sleep pass and Dracula awakens refreshed from his millennium snooze, to find himself in a church in modern times. Dracula is weak from starvation and has no memory of how he got here in the church. Along Gabriel's journey to regain his power and find his way back to his castle, he is aided by many different allies, one of which is Zobek, or Satan!

Story
The storyline to this game is somewhat confusing if you haven't played the other game in the series. However, it can be done and it doesn't take that long to begin to figure things out within the story. The game makes for quite a fun experience, and has a lot of details in it that make for an even more detailed gaming experience! The game holds an open world aspect where the player has the choice to go off and do whatever, or follow a mission path. The game's combat is thrilling, the storyline will have you wanting more once you begin to figure things out, and last but not least, you play as a super powerful lord vampire, known as Dracula! What more is there to want in a vampire game? Well, the things you want more of, this game delivers on, and therefore is one of the best vampire games that I have played to date! Lastly, this game tells a tale of Dracula that is closely derived from previous tales of the vampire lord, Dracula, which makes for a great experience for those who are interested in the story, and want to visualize it within a game.

Graphics
The graphics within this game are quite beautiful to say the least, and that is putting it lightly. The game was released in 2014, and you can tell how up to date graphics are within this game, even from the start. The characters look great, the weapons and fight scenes in the game look perfect, and the scenery around and within the game look stunning. There isn't a lot that the graphics department of this game didn't go into refining, and therefore I feel that the graphics of this game are spot on. The graphics of this game are some of the best of any game I have played, and for sure the best of any vampire game I played. The graphic department of this game did this game justice from the first game, and they should be proud of how the game actually turned out!

Controls
The controls of this game are great, and if you played the first game you will have no problem at all playing this game. The controls are simple whether you are in combat, or walking around within the open world. The controls of this game should be easily picked up and used by most anyone. As I don't in most games, I didn't feel the need to tweak any buttons or play on another control layouts, so I also feel that the default button/controller layout is fine for most players of this game. That being said, should you choose to use another controller layout there are a couple to choose from, and are easy to change around.

Ratings
Gameplay - 8/10
Plot - 9/10
Story - 8/10
Controls - 7/10
Graphics - 8.5/10
Overall - 9/10

Personal Note: This game is the better of the two within this series in my opinion. I feel that even though the game is rated mature and has quite a bit of blood and gore and what not, it is still a great game more most players as it tells a pretty cool story and is quite fun to play from start to finish. I would recommend that you play the first game in the series first, but it is not needed and even if you don't, you will still have a great time with this game!
