Where two worlds collide! Explore two unique worlds as your favorite Transformers characters from both the movie, Transformers: Age of Extinction, and Cybertron universes in a battle to secure an ancient and powerful relic, the Dark Spark!

Gameplay
This game is modeled after the previous games within the series. The other games are; Transformers: War for Cybertron, Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, and Transformers: Dark of the Moon. The game is still third person like the other games within the series are, as well as still letting you play through the game as many different Autobots and or Decepticons. The game has a pretty long storyline with the ability to play as over 40 different characters on both sides of the Autobot war! The game has a thrilling single player campaign, and has a wave based multiplayer where you and three friends can fend off wave upon wave of enemies and hold out together until the very end! This game also has upgrade-able weapons much like some of the previous games had, but this game also has a level up system where XP is earned and you are given loot chests apon reaching a new level in game! Overall, the game is quite fun and makes for another fun experience of the Transformers series of games!

Plot
The game starts out much like the movie does, where a purple meteor crashes into Earth and holds something of interest to both sides of the Cybertron war, the Autobots, and the Decepticons! The Autobots get there first and Prime sees that the purple meteor holds an ancient artifact known as the "Dark Spark". The Dark Spark grants the user the power to bend other forms of life to the user's will, and Prime deems it too dangerous and wants to bury it where no one can find it and use it. The Autobots then move to take out the enemies that happen to be guarding the Dark Spark, but fail in the attempt to return it to Prime, and Lockdown gets away with the artifact! Once the artifact the Autobots feel that they let Prime down, but in turn he gives a glorious speech saying that they will try again, and that this isn't going to be easy for the Decepticons to keep a hold of this Dark Spark! Prime also goes onto say that should Megatron get his hands on the artifact, that it would be the final, dark hours of the Autobots. The plot of this game follows closely to the movie, and is quite enjoyable to say the least.

Story
The storyline to this game follows closely to the movie, and I feel that the Autobots/Decepticons are portrayed as their normal selves, and the war over the Dark Spark makes for a great game with some pretty great moments within! I feel that the storyline to this Transformer game is somewhat better than that of other games within the series because I feel they make this storyline seem more important. They make it seem more important by letting Prime tell the player that if they should lose the Dark Spark to the other side, that it will be the sure final, dark hours of the Autobots, and that evil will prevail! That being said, it makes the player feel like a hero against all odds and makes you feel great when you actually recover the Dark Spark and what not! The game is a great game, whether you are playing alone or playing the wave based online mode with some friends.

Graphics
The graphics in this game are a little lacking to me. The game was helped by Hasbro, which is the makers of the line of toys, Transformers. That being said, I feel that they made the Transformers within this game look more like toys than huge pieces of transforming metal as I feel that they should be portrayed as. The graphics aren't bad within this game, just not as great as they could have been, and definitely not as menacing as it would have been if they had made them look like they did in the movies! The graphics of this game are also a little lacking because some of the characters and weapons within this game look as if they weren't finished. What I mean by that is if you turn a little too fast in the game you see a blank part of the weapon, or a piece of armor missing from one of the Transformers. I feel that they were somewhat rushed to get this game released, and therefore the graphics suffered a little. Last but not least, I feel the graphics team did do a great job of portraying what the Transformers home-world, Cybertron, actually looks like. They made it obvious that it was war-struck by making the home world look rusted, beaten, and mostly destroyed! Basically, Cybertron is on it's last legs.

Controls
The controls of this game are that of most of the other Transformer games within this gaming series. The buttons are easy to use and are closely modeled from other third person shooter games, and therefore if you have played a third person shooter before, you should be able to play this one no problem! There are multiple controller layouts as well, however, like usual I don't feel that much of anyone will use anything more than the default as the default control layout works great! Also, it is good to note that the sensitivity of this game is a little lower than that of other Transformer games, or third person shooters in general, so you may have to increase the speed of the controller sensitivity. Last but not least, I feel that the controls of this game are solid, and maybe other than changing a few buttons here and there for some users, that you won't need to change the controls around within this game!

Multiplayer
This games comes standard with multiplayer for you and 3 friends, that's 4 in total! The online gameplay of this game is very simple, and it ONLY offers wave based multiplayer for you and friends to go up against and try to survive! The online portion also offers XP that ties into your campaign, and the XP that is earned online is split equally between the players. Also, I think that the multiplayer in this game, even though it is simple, can still be really fun if you have a couple of friends playing with you! All in all, the multiplayer to this game, even though it may be lesser compared to other games, is still great and well worth a try if you and a couple of your friends have access to this game and some stable internet! Lastly, I feel that the multiplayer does get a little repetitive because you are always fighting the same enemies, just on different maps and what not!

Ratings

Graphics - 7/10
Multiplayer- 7/10
Overall - 8/10

Personal Note: This game was fun even though I feel personally that it could have been better. The graphics of this game made me feel like I was playing as some Hasbro toys rather than some hulking pieces of machinery, but maybe that is just me. However, even with the things within this game that annoyed me, I still had fun playing this game for the most part and would recommend this game to anyone who likes Transformers and especially to littler children as I feel this game is somewhat tailored to them as well as the older crowd!
