Synopsis
A wide-eyed Bengal tiger cub cocks its head to the side and playfully peers at you. Memories of your first trip to the zoo come rushing back. Through the magic of Kinect that furry tiger cub is in your living room and about to become your best friend. "Kinectimals" invites children, their parents and animal lovers of all ages to build lasting friendships with some of the world's most exotic creatures. Just like real pets, your "Kinectimals" will come running when they hear your voice, respond to commands such as "jump," "roll over" and "play dead," and purr with joy when you scratch them behind their ears.

Gameplay
In this game the player spends time using the Kinect System to play with, take care of, feed, and lastly even raise the cub! When you start the game you visit Fur Town, where you will choose one of the 6 initial cubs. As you play through the game, you will unlock more cubs. There are 11 cubs to play with in total.

Plot
The plot behind this game was to make an everlasting connection between children and families alike. This game was built solely for Kinect. And that is how you play the game. The game offers it's players the chance to directly teach and interact with very lovable tiger cubs is endearing to say the least, and started a viral sensation between parents uploading videos of their small children playing this game and having an absolute blast while doing so. Kinectimals is obviously geared for a younger audience, it's almost too cute with the little energetic cubs running and rolling around on plains of grass right in front of your eyes. There's not much of a story behind Kinectimals beyond a story based on recovering a pirate's booty on the island of Lemuria, but this type of narrative isn't really required for this type of game.

Story
Their isn't really a story within this game other than recovering a pirate's booty from Lemuria. But, as said above, this is a child's game so the storyline within the game isn't as important as it would be if this game was geared to an older crowd. The game has high learning mechanics that builds the minds of it's young players, and teaches them about cute animals all in the same go around! The game has many mini games, every time the player completes one of these mini game you earn XP in which turn you unlock more of the island to explore with your cub. Last but definitely not least, each cub has it's own personality and will drag toys to you or jump around to get your attention.

Graphics
The graphics within this game are incredibly stunning. The character models of the cubs are realistic, but in a cuter, less "true to life" and more adorable. The island that you play on is lush in green and pretty flowers. The wind blows the grass, trees limbs, and the cub's fur around, all looking effortless and beautiful. The designers of this game also added unique expressions to each cub that seem almost true to life. For instance, how they **** their head to the right or left if they are confused, or them purring when you rub them. The only complaint I have about this game is the overuse of the menus which takes you away from the feel of an island, and puts you more into the feel of having cluttered drop down menus all over your screen.

Controls
The controls of this game are really solid. You are the controller! This game uses Kinect and might I say that this is the first Kinect game that I played where the Kinect actually worked the way it was supposed to. The only complaint that I have for this game and any other Kinect game, is I, and most other people that play games don't have enough room for the Kinect to work properly, so to get this game working for my kid brother I have to move all kinds of furniture around for him to have a play space. Other than that minor setback, the controls to this game are flawless.

Personal Note: This game is cute, beautiful, and makes the young player smarter! They did amazing with this Kinect exclusive and made for a really fun and cute game. This game was an instant hit with my younger brother, and if you have a Kinect and a younger sibling I would highly recommend getting this game and letting them try it out. It's well worth a try!
