Overview
Orange Box features five complete games into one retail unit! Half-Life 2 and it's two episodes. Portal and Team Fortress! All of which are produced by Valve. There are a total of 99 achievements within this game spanning across all of the games and totaling over the required 1,000G that Microsoft forces upon every retail game. Also, when the game is played on Windows the game tracks data from you and other players to highlight the hardest bosses, most deaths in a certain location, etc

Half-Life 2
Half-Life 2 is a sci-fi FPS and the sequel to Half-Life. It remains similar in style all the while introducing new concepts to the series such as physics and puzzles, also vehicle sections! The game takes place in City 17 and the player takes control of scientist, Gordon Freeman. Freeman thrust forth into the environment that takes place right after the first game. He and his Black Mesa, oppressed citizens, and Vortigaunts, colleagues are opposed against an increasing enemy force.

Half-Life 2: Episode 1
Half-Life 2: Episode 1 continues from the first introduction of Half-Life 2. This episode builds on top of the original by adding co-op with a smart AI or the ability to play with a friend. The other character is a female named, Alyx Vance. This episode is set after the events of Half-Life 2 (end of the game) and has Freeman and Vance up against the force known as the, "Combine."

Half-Life 2: Episode 2
This episode was originally ONLY available in the Orange Box and focuses on bigger and brighter environments, vehicles, travel, less linear play, etc. This episode also moves away from City 17 and more out into the bigger open world. This game was praised and loved for the change of pace they made will more open environments and what not.

Portal
Portal is a single player, first person, action/puzzle game that was first available ONLY in Orange Box. The game consists primarily of puzzles that are solved by using and creating portals of red/blue colors which are used to leap and bound over objects and push really heavy objects through the portals. The goal of each puzzle is just to get to the exit of an increasingly difficult puzzle game. The AI that orders you around is named, GLaDOS. The emphasis of this game is it's unusual use of physics.

Team Fortress
Team Fortress is a multiplayer team based FPS that was again, originally ONLY available in the Orange Box. It is a sequel to a Qwake mod! It focuses on two competing teams that attack each other in order to achieve different and consistently varying goals and objectives. Including; Capture and hold, or Capture the Flag along with many other game modes. There are 9 different classes all of which have their strengths and weaknesses.

Graphics and Controls
The graphics of these games are all quality. Considering that they were made in the earliest of 2007, the graphics still looked quite nice. The shadows, weapons, and characters could use some touching up and revamping because of how long it has been, but they are still impressive graphics, some are still impressive even today!

The controls to these games are actually pretty amazing as well. Very easy and simple button layouts and what not. Most of these games are first person as well, so the games don't differ a lot on controls from game to game. The controls of this game should be easy for anyone to pick up and play around with. Very solid graphics and controls for all of these games.

Personal Note: This collection of games is actually quite fun, and well worth a try if you haven't experienced these games and their former glory. These games are still fun to date and have quite a bit of replay value because of easter eggs and achievements. Maybe not good enough to own, but, definitely a worthy choice for a rent!
