Gameplay
Like many previous instalments of Sly Cooper, the player primarily controls Sly who uses stealth to restore the name/history of the Thievius Raccoonus. Much of the game uses Sly's stealth to create sneaky attacks, brain busting platform puzzles, and stealing items from guards. New to this game is armor, and ranged attacks for Sly. There are also secret mask and treasure hidden throughout this game. The collectible clue bottles from other Sly games make a return in this installment. Last, but not least, if you own a Vita you can hook the PS3 and Vita up together and use your Vita as an augmented reality set of x-ray goggles to find bottles and other collectibles through the world whenever you please.

Plot
Thieves in Time follows conclusions from Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves; Sly is faking amnesia to be with Carmelita, Murray is racing with the team van, and Bentley and Penelope are constructing a time machine. However, along Bentley and Penelope's inventing process they find that the words are going blank in the Thievius Raccoonus and eventually Penelope also vanishes. So, Bentley, calls the gang back together to figure out what is going wrong and what is happening. The team starts their journey in Feudal, Japan where they meet a ninja and the inventor of sushi. The team travels from place to place trying to gather their thoughts about this, all along the way seeing people from the past appearing in their times. They are also experiencing things that are different from what they should be in the history books. The gang later figures out that the "Black Knight" they have been chasing and whatnot turns out to be Bentley's girl, Penelope which sends him into a deep depression, however, he later slays his inner demons and re arrives in time to help save the gang from Penelope.

Story
The story of this game is a lot like a lot of other Sly games in the fact that you are still sneaky and still steal things along your path. However, this game is different from other games in the fact that you are trying to help Bentley find Penelope and figure out what happened to her rather than find or re write the words to the Thievius Raccoonus. Then, once she is figured to be the bad guy be it hard for Bentley, he and the gang turn against her to fight for what is right and make things right in the once great world. This game is a thrilling play, and well worth the money to buy/play it!

Graphics
Since this is one of the newer Sly's within the game's series, the graphics are more up to date. the graphics still have a Sly feel to them, but they look nice and fit with the game just they always have. Also, since you get to travel the world in this game, you get to see some truly beautiful areas within the world, that while in cartoon form, are still beautiful. The graphics department did this game some justice, and should be recognized for that accomplishment to keep an amazing series looking amazing if you will.

Controls
The controls within this game are just as they always were in Sly game's. No controls have been differed or changed, and still work just as well as they did in previous instalments of Sly. This game's controls feel as if they have done it right, and therefore I think anyone should be able to pick up a controller and play this game, no problem!

Multiplayer
There is local multiplayer within this game, where you can go head to head with a friend in timed races and loot grabbing missions. The multiplayer in this game gets old fast with the very little map variation and game mode variation, but they are really fun when they are new to the player. The game modes also make for a fun competitive experience with some close friends.

Personal Note: This game is actually really fun! This is arguably the most fun game of the series because of how diverse and beautiful this game is. This game has you play as not only Sly, but Bentley, and Murray in certain parts. You also get to travel around the world and see some beautifully designed graphics. Lastly, this game makes you feel like a hero to not only the rest of the world, but to Bentley, your friend.
